First Hawaiian Bank —

I've had accounts with both rival banks in Hawaii, First Hawaiian Bank and Bank of Hawaii. First Hawaiian Bank has constantly throughout time decreased in their customer service especially when compared with Bank of Hawaii. In addition to being kept on telephone hold so long each time that I've had to hang up multiple occasions, service at their locations seems to be no better.

I've visited at least 5 locations on the island of O'ahu in Hawaii and on every occasion been disappointed. Tellers on multiple occasions tended to their drawers and writing as they needed to even while the customer standing in front of them waited for quite some time. In addition, though there were four tellers and 8 customer parties (I was 5th in line), it still took me over 10 minutes to wait. This is in contrast to the speed of Bank of Hawaii tellers and their fast, seemingly very efficient customer service.

I was actually so irritated today as one of the tellers walked to verify my account and then got stopped along the way in conversation about some human resources personal issue that another teller had. They conversed while I waited at the window. I was so irritated that I decided to write this review.

If you ever have to bank in Hawaii, take Bank of Hawaii, not First Hawaiian Bank. It's worth it.
