Ramsey lays out a simple workable plan to get, and stay, out of debt, as well as reasons for doing so. He uses the story and lessons of his personal financial rise and fall to keep things interesting, and it's written on a level that most 5th graders could understand but won't be boring to those with more experience.
One really nice feature is that there is a page written by his wife at the end of each chapter. It's a little something extra on the same topic from a different perspective.
The book is based on economic principals found in the Bible, but you don't have to be Jewish or Christian for it to work.
