One of the best pets, however, they do smell.

We had a ferret for 10 years, which is old for a ferret.  I would recommend this animal to folks who have time to spend with it.  They are mostly a one person pet and will follow you around like a dog.  They should be given ferret food.  Ours however liked cat food.  It is harder on their system and not recommended by vets.  When we switched to ferret food, Xenia would not eat, therefore, the vet said to go back to the cat food.  Xenia developed a tumor (which is normal) and had surgery to have it removed.  The cost was $700.  To us it was worth it.  She lived another year and passed away from old age.
