Best animal ever.

The ferret is the perfect pet and here's why:
1) They're small.
2) They're quiet.
3) They're easy to train.
4) They're low maintenance.
5) They're fun to watch.
6) They're able to entertain themselves.
7) They have small poop.
8) They sleep A LOT.

We have 2 ferrets. They're both housebroken, one more so than the other, but that's okay (see reason 7 above.) They don't require expensive toys. They're more than happy to play with any empty (or full) grocery bag, tissue box, sock, rug, etc. They make virtually no noise, at least nothing that can be heard through apartment walls or doors.

Here's a list of why a ferret might not be the perfect pet for some people:
1) They're small.
2) They're nosey. They will knock everything over at least once. Put your fragile heirlooms out of reach. And make sure they're actually out of reach. Don't assume the ferret can't get to it as they'll certainly try.
3) They can bite if excited or provoked. Not a good idea to leave them unattended with small children, especially young ferrets.
4) They will crawl into the smallest, weirdest places.
5) They will often fall asleep in the smallest, weirdest places often freaking their owners out as to their whereabouts.
6) They may or may not come when called.
7) They WILL steal your stuff.
