Fender Stratocaster Special Mahogany HSS Review

Hmm...a SD pickup doesn't give a very twangy sound, but rather a beefier, more full bodied tone. Most humbuckers in general aren't the best for a twangy sound. I use Daddario strings, but I believe that GHS boomer are very bright, twangy strings. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask.

What I did (it's the guitar in my picture) was route the pickguard to HSH and keep the middle pickup. I replaced bridge with Dimarzio Super Distortion and neck with Dimarzio PAF Pro. right now it's one of the best guitars I've ever played, period. It sounds amazing. It really depends on what kind of music you play, as I mostly play rock and metal (Randy Rhoads is my biggest influence.) What kind of music do you play? And go ahead and buy the guitar...it's like a dream.
