The Felco Bypass Pruners are a top pick by a former landscaper and also popular with home gardeners. The design is comfortable, and the shock absorber makes a world of difference if you're putting in a lot of yard work hours. Felco pruners are more expensive, but they hold up unlike lower priced pruners. They can also be taken apart to replace parts. Do note that the #9 pruners are for left handed yard workers while the #8 is for righties.

The only way to prune.

Note- #9's are for lefties, if you're a rightie you need #8's — I did six years as a professional landscaper, and Felcos were the only acceptable pruners. They are well made, comfortable, and can be broken down for cleaning and replacing broken parts. When I finally got my #9's, it was a wonderful day. Finally, LEFTIES! Having good pruners, for the correct hand, makes a big difference when you're pruning for 6 hours straight. The Felco #9 Bypass Hand Pruner is a handy tool to have. They are easy to use, fitting well into ones hands, enabling the user to fit the tool into the area needing cut. I am a small, older lady so I need a tool that will do the job with precision. I use one to make a clean, sharp cut on the limb or branch needing pruned. I have a large property and when we built our home, 39 years ago, I set out to fill the whole acre with trees and shrubs. I succeeded very well.
