You may think that bad chocolate is an oxymoron like I do. However there is great chocolate as opposed to "just" chocolate. I found this great chocolate at Fedele’s Chocolates.
The Fedele family has run this business since 1987. They have two locations. One is the location I go to at 170 Water Street in Plymouth, MA. The other is at 95 Church Street in Pembroke, MA.

Fedele’s was voted "Best Candy Shop On The South Shore" for the second year in a row from the readers of South Shore Living Magazine.
How do they make it so good? They make small batches that are slow-cooked daily in copper kettles, and then dipped, one center at a time, in their own premium chocolate blend.
Fedele’s will custom make up a basket for you or you’ll see baskets made up and ready to go. Back in November I wanted a really nice gift to bring to my new son-in-law’s grandmother’s house for Thanksgiving. I have so many baskets I decided to go around the store and pick out a variety of chocolates and specialty chocolates such as a turkey lollipop. For $.75 I bought the cellophane gift wrapping and in the end my basket looked like it was done professionally. Then it was dessert time and we opened the basket.
Whatever I tried was delicious. The chocolate melted in my mouth. Each chocolate had its own distanct flavor. It was a hit.
Fedele’s also sells stuffed animals (to go with a gift basket); Plymouth specialty items (key chains, magnets), fudge, mugs and tins. They have a line of sugar-free items.
On a more recent visit I wanted a housewarming gift for our friends. I decided on a Plymouth theme. I bought a lobster barley lollipop, ($1.50) a chocolate lollipop, and a nicely packaged square that said “Greetings from Plymouth, MA, Boston baked beans ($1.75)and cheese and butter spreaders with Pilgrims as the handle ($13.00). I did the same thing, i.e. bought wrap and put the items in my own basket. My friends loved it. Not only was the chocolate sensational and the baked beans wonderful but they had a housewarming gift with a Plymouth theme all in a one-stop shopping spree for me.
The chocolate is not inexpensive. That little spree above cost me $22.00. A pound of chocolates will run you $18.00; a turtle assortment with 24 pieces weighing 20 oounces will cost you $23.95; one truffle is $.75.
In summary: Thumbs up! It deserves the award.
