FedEx —

I buy a lot online and sometimes I get the stuff through FedEx. I live out in the country and its 90% dirt roads out here. Although streets are marked clear a lot of people don't take the time to mark either their house or mailbox the same way. Mine is clearly marked and I am only one of maybe 60% that do that.

My Dealings with FedEx

Whenever I do get a delivery from them they come knocking at the door whether it is a "Must Sign For" package or not. If I hear them I answer the door and if not they will leave it in between the screen door and front door (if it will fit) or on the porch if it is a nice day. They only do this when my truck is in the driveway though. If my truck is not there they have left a note on the door and then taken the package around back and either placed it on the back porch, or under the pool shed overhang if it is foul weather.

Now in my book that is above and beyond what they are supposed to do. They will walk into the back yard to make sure I get my package. In this day and age where more and more LAZY people work for delivery services, it is a great thing to find a person that not only enjoys their job but has respect for customers as well.

On a few occasions when I had to sign for a package the guy left me a phone number to call to arrange for him to bring it back the next day and even asks what time would be good for me. Seems he is through here twice a day, once on his normal run and then again on his way back to his yard. Now I ask you is that Service or What?

One time my neighbor was not home and FedEx came knocking on my door. The package was marked Fragile and had "Happy Birthday" on it. Now it was a Friday and he told me he would not be going back through at the end of the day. Since I was home and it said what it said on it he asked if I could accept it and he would put a note on their door saying I had it.

My neighbor does not have a porch and it was raining as well. Of course I said yes as he had done so much for me. He was looking out for the guy next door just as he had for me! Now that is customer service at its best! My neighbor was very thankful not only for me accepting it but also the thoughtfulness of the FedEx guy.

Bottom Line

People always ask me why I like the country so much, if they only knew the best people live here. I get my mailbox in my driveway, because I let the post office use my drive as a turn around. My delivery people are super friendly and care about all of us out here. I have wildlife in my yard year round. My neighbors are the greatest and the fresh air and tranquility are next to none. So what if I have to drive 15 miles to the grocery store, I unlike those in the city don't have to drive to pick up my packages My hats off to FedEx and the crew that services my neighborhood!
