This works great if you are using it in soil that is already soft and loose. Tried using it with hard soil and could barely scratch the surface. I woudn't recommend it. There are other products that work better for digging. This would work well if in loose soil to turn up weeds. Otherwise I wouldn't go with it.

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm in red Georgia clay, and my garden has been tended for 28yrs. The soil is good, but when the dry season hits - nothing is going to go through that dirt. I have to rely on the tiller when we have rain, and heavy mulch during the summer drought.
