As a makeup artist, I find one of the most disappointing and frustrating things is trying to find makeup which compliments the FULL range of tones of dark skin. Back in the 1980s and 90s I used to get quite a bit of Fashion Fair makeup. I used to love their lipsticks, and I still use my beloved Christmas set that I got a long time ago which has metallic unique shades of lip color. Fashion Fair used to have some of the best makeup choices for dark skin, and although I have medium toned skin much of time time, I could use a good amount of products from the Fashion Fair line. It used to be that the Fashion Fair line had a pretty decent range of products and the quality was good, but the price was not overly high either. Gifts with Purchase were amazing and I really loved it. In recent years, however, the line has changed so drastically that I have not purchased a thing from it in a long time. The products are limited to very orange and red tones, and a few darker ones, but anyone with gold tones or very blue based dark skin tones (think very dark chocolate) have no choices there. The quality went down too. No longer did the makeup seem to address the needs of dark skinned women. It is chalky, colors are boring, and the lipstick quality makes my lips peel badly. Some day I am going to develop a makeup line that truly addresses the needs of the wide spectrum of color in dark skin tones that does not turn orange, red, or ghostly under bright lights. Until then, however, Fashion Fair makeup just isn't making the grade quality and color choice wise. It is too bad, because Fashion Fair had some of my very favorite makeup in the past.

I really did not like this product. It went on too cakey. It would not fan out to save a life. It won't fan out at all. The sponge that came with it seems like it's not for the application at all. It seems like the sponge that came with it is for blending after it dries up. It cakes and cracks all day long even with a setting powder. Really a fail. If you have any suggestions as of what to use it for other than face makeup let me know.

fashion fair foundation, lipstick is a great product for woman of color. The price is some what high but well worth the price. When you apply the foundation to your face, it brings your face more lifeful and bueatiful with a glow.the lip stick is also a good product.The only thing you need to do is apply to lips and see how your lips become more attractive. the results is one that you will become so satified that you wont really care for the price because it is worth it

     I recommend fashion fairmakeup. I tried all kinds of makeup and couldn't  find the one that would cover up my freckles or uneven skin tones until i tried the fashion fair . It gives me the even tone that i had been looking for . It feels great on my face because its not heavy at all and i love it.  No matter what skin type you are fashion fair has on for you. If your skin is oily or dry . Mine is normal so you see thereis one for everyone. I would recommend to any one before you give up on makeup try fashion fair first.   Makeup girl

The colors never match, it is too heavy of a makeup, and it looks like you are wearing a ton of make up even with a little bit on.  And it is not for all women of color, they have more makeup for women with redder under tones and medium to darker complexion, I have a lighter complexion with more yellow under tones, I guess I am out of luck

Fashion Fair cover is a good product. It does what the maker says it should do cover dark area of my skin. It does not take much to do so, this product goes on smooth and has very little fragrance which is great for my skin. The only thing I would suggest when using the cover up is to us a moisturize before you apply the cover up and you should avoid getting overly dry skin. This product can only be purchased at a department store so it can be a little pricey, but I'm at the age where I feel like I'm worth it.

FASHION FAIR IS THE BEST MAKEUP FOR WOMEN OF COLOR.  I HAVE USED FASHION  FAIR FOR MANY YEARS. I  NOTICED A NEW LINE OF COLORS WERE INTRODUCED IN THE LOOSE FACE POWDER. THERE IS A SMALLER SELECTION TO CHOOSE FROM.  I USED TRANSLUCENT TOPAZE. FINDING THE RIGHT SHADE IS THE MOST DIFFICULT TASK.  I WAS SO EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED THAT ALL THE OLD COLORS WERE DISCONTINUED. I LOVE THE NEW PACKAGING, WHICH IS GOOD MARKETING. NONE OF THE NEW COLORS ARE COMPATIABLE WITH THE OLD COLORS. BY DOING A NEW COLOR CHANGE YOU HAVE NARROWED THE FIELD, FROM WHICH WOMEN COULD CHOOSE. SOME OF US ARE NOW BEING FORCED TO SEARCH FOR DIFFERENT LINES OF MAKEUP TO FIND THE RIGHT THE RIGHT SHADES OF FACE POWDER. DON'T FIX WHAT WASN'T BROKE! REMEMBER, WE ARE WOMEN OF COLOR: BLACK, HISPANIC,ASIAN, HAWAIIAN, AMERICAN INDIAN,AND ORIENTAL. PLEASE BRING BACK ALL THE OLD COLORS IN THE LOOSE FACE POWDER.
