Farmers Insurance Reviews

As with all companies, Farmers has its good points and bad points.

I actually was a customer of Farmers, and then became an Agent with Farmers, so I have seen the penny from both sides.

As a customer, things always went smoothly, I never had a problem, except with the constant rate increases and the various "Miscellaneous Charges" that never could be explained or removed! My agent was great and was the reason I thought it would be a good idea to become one.

As an agent, I realized that the Farmers system is greatly flawed and their computers don't always synch up with the information that is input....

After being a low-risk customer of Farmers for over a decade with homeowners and auto insurance and NEVER filing a claim, my vehicle was struck in a parking lot last week.  I obtained the other driver's insurance info (USAA), obtained an estimate to repair the damages, and called my local Farmers office to ask what to do.  They provided me incorrect information regarding my deductible and said I should file a claim with Farmers Helpoint.  So, I called Helpoint, and proceeded to be told that the deductible would actually be much higher and not fall into uninsured motorist or comprehensive, despite...

After having been customers of Farmers insurance for nearly 3 years, my husband and I have decided to switch.

Our agents, Erik and Kristen Granroth, are very friendly and seem to genuinely care about us as people.  Honestly, I wish they were affiliated with other insurance companies so we could just switch companies but keep our nice agents.

Our issue with Farmers is their rate increases.  Every 6 months when we get our offer of policy renewal, the rate has risen $7-$30 per month.  We have never made an insurance claim with Farmers and the only thing that has changed in the past 3 years...

I first used Farmers when I bought my house.

I had been with GEICO for 13 years and ran into a major problem when they capriciously switched me from one GEICO company to another (who knew there was more than one??).  I got a check due to "changes in my policy".  I happened to call in for some information and THEN they told me "I" had cancelled my policy.  I was shocked.

Apparently, due to this "switch" they suddenly wanted a form filled out that stated I would not allow my roommate to drive my car due to his record.  They claimed to have mailed me the form and that I never returned it, so "I"...

I have had Farmers insurance for almost 2 years and I couldn't be happier.  While shopping around, Farmers quotes beat any others by almost $300.00 a year.  I paid the first years premiums in advance, but the nest year I qualified for monthly payments. During this time, I had a break in. The came out the next day and evaluated the damage.  They were very honest and upfront and told me what it would cost. Although it was more than my deductible, it would be cheaper to repair the damages myself and not file a claim so it would not affect my premiums.

After being with Farmers for many years and several milestones such as reaching the age of 18, then 21, graduating high school and college, getting married, and having a baby our rates continued to increase instead of decrease. with only one traffic ticket in more than 5 years I couldn't understand why. only one ticket, no accidents, no claims of any sort and they kept wanting more of our money. When I contacted our agent on several occasions about the increases i was told the equivalent of "oh, rates are going up everywhere, we just charge what we're told" They apparently have no interest in maintaining...

I recently experienced the one thing that until it has happened to you, there is no way of knowing how I would feel. After living in my home for the last 16 years, I recently came home after a evening out to find my home had been burglarized I was angry,anxious to find out what had happened while I was out for 3 hours. I couldn't believe that a burglar had been in my home very recently and what all had they been doing. I found the place where they had gotten into my house and that when i started to notice various items had been taken. After contacting the police department they sent an officer...

Although I see multiple adds offering to lower my car insurance premium, I don't want to chnage insurance companies.  My agent has always been extremely helpful.  I have always been able to contact him when I need him. I especially like the discounts I am given.

I have been with farmers for over 20 years and plan on staying with them as long as I own a car and can keep my same agent.  Of course if my agent retires, I will give a new agent a  chance to be just as helpful as my current agent.

Great customer service keeps me renewing with Farmers.
