We got Farm Bureau Insurance because it was a great discount.  We added a vehicle to our policy but NEVER got cards or information for the vehicle.  I called and they promised repeatedly. (over 6-8 months)  They assured me I was "legal" anyway.  Then we bought a new vehicle and before I could call them to enstate a new policy (we were waiting to sell and cancel another car) the agent used our information and put a policy on the vehicle without ANY contact or approval.  This would have cost us hudreds of dollars more and we were on an automatic draft.  The paperwork showed that my husband approved it and he knew nothing about it!!  In the long process of trying to get correct coverage on the new van and still get the first vehicle insured they managed to insure two other cars and drop the insurance on the new vehicle (causing us to violate the agreement with the bank).  I talked to the head underwriter and still nothing was done.  After many other visits, I finally went into the office, confronted the man who put the 'illegal' policy on our van (saying my husband did it which was a lie), and he denied all of it and blamed the dealership!!  I then told him I was going to have a local channel investigate and he started telling me he did it all "in our best interest" (among other lame excuses).  We called State Farm, the agent came to our house and had both auto and renters insurance on all of our vehicles and home for only about 20 dollars more than Farm Bureau.  I can't warn anyone more than this - STAY AWAY!

I have had them for 3 years without a single problem on either of my vehicles nor my home owners insurance. I have also had a claim on my home. It's not Farm Bureau it's the Agent you have. Ron
