I've been a faithful customer of Farm Bureau, and I am now totally disgusted with them.  First of all, my son slid off an icy road and hit a telephone pole.  His truck was totalled.  It was a used truck with low mileage, and we had only owned it for about 6 months.  We had full coverage on it, and I had to fight with Farm Bureau for over 2 months to try to get them to pay a decent price for the truck.  The adjuster was not able to bicker over the claim amount with me, so I had to talk to his boss.  I talked to this man a couple of times, but he was totally unreasonable.  I spent weeks looking at other trucks that were for sale that compared with this one.  I got all the information together to show the adjuster's boss, but still he would not talk to me.  Then I decided to go over his head to the next level of management, which just happened to be the CEO.  The CEO wouldn't speak to me at all.  It got so bad that when I called, the receptionist knew my voice, and she would lie and say that the adjuster wasn't in the office.  One time when she did this, I had my son call, and he was put right through to the adjuster.  After 2 months, I was sick of my son driving my truck and leaving me with no wheels, so I settled with them for $2,000 less than what the truck was worth.

As if that wasn't bad enough, after he wrecked his truck, he bought another truck.  This one we just got liability on.  The new truck broke down, and after it sat in the driveway for a month not being driven, I decided to cancel the insurance on it until it was fixed.  So Farm Bureau put my son on MY truck policy.  In the past, when I made a switch or change to any of my policies, and it wasn't the best thing for me to do financially, my agent would let me know before I did it.  This time she didn't do that.  (Remember, I've been with them for 23 years.  We are on a first-name basis.  I've used the same agent since I've been with them.)  After my son was put on MY insurance, for MY truck, my insurance went up $190.00 more per month.  My son's insurance was $140.00 per month, but when he was put on my policy, it was $190.00 more for him.  I went from paying $64.00 a month to $254.00 a month.  It would have been cheaper for me to keep the insurance on the broken down truck.

I am now looking for new insurance and an attorney, so that I can sue Farm Bureau for the $2,000 they owe me.
