See into the future
Well, as close as possible! Somebody has bet a bundle on technology that tells the rest of us whether the airfare we're watching will go up or down. Hey, that's a lot more than I could do, so let 'er rip. Farecast is a free web site which lets you enter your flight of interest, then tells you, in easy-to-understand graphics, whether to buy now or wait. It even tells you how "sure" it is!
Lots of Useful Info!
A bonus - when you get your Farecast prediction, you also get to see the current best rates and corresponding flights, from all sorts of sources, including Orbitz and various airlines. In addition to the Farecast, shoppers will see a Fare History over the past 55 days, with lowest and average price for the flight in question.
Something for Everyone
Gamblers, Worriers and Hedge-Betters will enjoy the Fare Guard feature, which allows shoppers to pay $9.95 to lock in today's rate in case the fare goes north instead of south. Flexible-day fares are an option, as are loads of other goodies.
Site will Continue to Improve
This review is being written during the beta version of Farecast.com. The site is adding more airport locations, and a full list of upgrades which you can read all about on the site. In the meantime, don't second-guess yourself. It's so much easier to trust the folks at Farecast.com.
Time will tell if that's been a wise move, but I'm betting this site will be big with pleasure travelers.
The Bottom Line: Libby Likes It!
