This movie was one of those, that when I saw the first one and heard about a sequel, I wasn't very impressed. I just didn't think that there would be enough of a fan base for another one to do well in the box office. But it seems I was wrong, and after seeing it, I'm pleasantly surprised.

The plot goes something like this: all is well on planet earth until an alien being, the Silver Surfer, comes down and begins to cause molecular anomalies all over the planet. When the Fantastic Four learn that 8 days after the Silver Surfer arrives on a planet, it dies, they have to find a way to save the Earth from an almost certain doom.

I am personally not a very big fan of the Fantastic Four. I was always more of an X-Men or Spiderman fan, but I was still interested in how they would present the Silver Surfer and eventually Galactus. After watching the movie, I'm happy with how it turned out. The dialog was good enough for a comic book movie, and quite funny at times. The real joy I got from this movie was seeing the Silver Surfer come to life on the big screen. He's truly an amazing character. I wish they had developed him a little more, but with minimal development, I'm sure the audience was able to see who he really was. This movie would probably interest you if your a fan of the Fantastic Four, like comic books in general, enjoy fantasy/sci-fi cinematic adventures or find Jessica Alba incredibly hot.

This movie was good, but seeing it once is enough. It probably won't have the prestigious honor of being added to my collection once it hits DVD.

MPAA Rating: PG (for sequences of action violence, some mild language and innuendo)

Run Time: 1 hour 32 minutes

Rating(out of 10): 6.7

I agree - I think there was a lack of character development for the Silver Surfer, even though they did pull it off because he was so cool and he had Morpheus's voice! ;o) I liked this one much better than the original, and unlike most people, I did like the original. It was a little slow, but the character development was great. This second one felt like those elements were reversed - lots of action, low in the character plotpoints. Some of the most emotional scenes (like the one at the end that I'm not going to say because I don't want to ruin it for anyone reading this who hasn't seen it), didn't really have the weight that they should have. And can I just say that Jessica Alba is a babe - even I can admit that - but her eyes were FREAKY! They should have stayed away from those contacts, they were just wierd and distracting!
