re-reading the classics

My 3 year old daughter was introduced to the Fancy nancy books this weekend and instantly feel in love!

Fancy Nancy books are a great way to expand your childs vocabulary. Fancy Nancy writes her books replacing extraordinary words (that is "fancy" for really good!) for ordinary terms.

Fancy Nancy books are wonderful and unique (fancy for really special). I am running out to the library this week to get as many books as I can.... and then will buy her favorites.

Fancy Nancy has great books for little girls looking to learn!

This book (and its sequels) are Fantastic (that is a fancy word for great)! They have beautiful, fun, sparkly illustrations. They are wonderfully unique (that is a fancy word for one of a kind). This book is about a sensational (that is a fancy word for great ) little girl who is fancier than her family. She loves big words and frilly outfits. Every little girl loves dressing up and pretending, but Nancy makes it a way of life. Your children will learn vocabulary and creativity through this wonderful silly little story that always manages to tie in some little moral or valuable tid bit.

I started reading the Fancy Nancy books to my little girl when she was 2 years old and she has loved the books from the first page! They are adorable and charming and I think my daughter will continue to enjoy them for several more years to come. The colors and designs were enough to keep my daughter's attention when she was two and the story line is enough to kepe her entertained now (3 and 1/2 years old). Even I enjoy reading these stories to her! We started with just the Fancy Nancy book. From there we have bought every book in the series, including the Easy Readers, which were fantastic gifts...

Fancy Nancy is one of my favorite books.  Nancy is an adorable (a fancy word for cute)  little girl who enjoys wearing sparkly, stupendous (a fancy word for fancy) outfits and using exquisitely original (a fancy phrase for unusual) words.  She decides to instruct (a fancy word for teach) her un-fancy family in the technique  (a fancy word for  way)  of being fancy  with hilarious (a fancy word for  funny)  results.   This is an enjoyable (a fancy word for nice) book for parents to share with children and a terrific (a fancy word for great)  way  to increase their vocabulary.

As a teacher I am always keeping my eye out for a fun book to read to my 2nd graders.  This book, Fancy Nancy, is so fun with all the fancy words and ideas.  Even the boys in my class get a kick out of it.  My favorite part of the book is the vocabulary and the use of synonyms. (I am alway trying to find ways to improve my students' writing and I often refer to Fancy Nancy for an example of creative writing.)  The illustrations are also extremely entertaining.  Anyone trying to find a book to get their child interested in reading, Fancy Nancy will do it.

Enjoy!

Wow... what a great bunch of stories... I have a 4 year old daughter who loves "Fancy Nancy".  These stories are adorable.  My daughter loves to learn the "fancy" words.  We read frequently throughout the day, and fancy nancy usually makes the list.  The stories are interesting, she is very attentive and enjoys the beautiful illustrations.  These are great stories for little girls with great imaginations.  I'm excited to buy more of them, so keep on writing Erica!

Wondeful text. Narrative well fashioned, and easy for all children. Two-thumbs up! The plot was complicated by a subtle, but nuanced use of ironic parody. A delight when it comes to discovering how Nancy is so fancy! Even the title Fancy Nacy is special and meaningful to the audience. Not for children under three, but widely accessible for the rest of the family. Great read.

My 7 and 4 year old daughters love books.  These are some of their favorites, especially of my 4 year olds.  We read these books over and over again.  They can easily relate to the characters.  I highly recommend them for any little girl.

Fancy Nancy is a fun book with great illustrations. I am one who buys books based on the illustrations, but the story-line is cute too. I recommend it!

I am an avid reader. My family has 2 big bookshelves of books with many others lying around. We make many library trips and take books everywhere we go. I had a chance to read a Fancy Nancy book to some Kindergarten kids. When I read books I get very into them and sometimes act them out as I read. These Kindergarten kids loved the book so much that their teacher mentioned they wanted me to come read to them again. When it comes to books and children I love it. So anyways back to Fancy Nancy. I began reading and got into acting out the different actions that Fancy Nancy did in the book and the kids...

I'm 48 years old, and don't have any small children at home.  My daughter is 17 and beyond children's books, as I am.  Or so we thought.  A clerk at Books A Million introduced me to Fancy Nancy, and I was hooked.  I stood there in the store and read the whole book, and then went and got my daughter and brought her over to the children's section and stood there laughing with her as she read the whole book.

Fancy Nancy is delightful, and will appeal to anyone who loves the English language and little girls.  Nancy loves big words, and you will love to hear her use them and explain what they...

The Fancy Nancy book Series are some of the best books I have ever read to my daughter.  They are perfect for the girly girls and I love that the author used a wide variety of vocabulary!  It is an awesome teaching skill mixed with fun stories and wonderful illustrations.  My seven year old daughter just loves them!

I am a children's librarian and have made certain the Fancy Nancy books are on our shelves. There are picture books and "easy reader" books for those just learning to read. The illustrations are delightful as is the main character. She is someone little girls can relate to and understand.
