Pretty Decent

We have these tires on our mid-sized, low mileage Hyundai Elantra. We got these a little more than a year ago and so far we have been pleased. We purchased these at our local tire shop and they recommended these based on our driving habits. We use this vehicle mostly in the summer months and seldom in the winter. They said that they would be acceptable for winter driving, but I prefer a larger (4wd) vehicle when it gets snowy out. I have a short commute to work and these work great for my quick and direct trip. We have also used these on one car trip out of state and they offered sufficient traction, but again, it was mostly easy highway driving. Since it is on our car (we also have a SUV) we do not really need these to stand up to heavy-duty wear. These do well in the rain, although I am sure that there are better tires out there. Once I hydroplaned, but I blame poor road engineering since I've seen numerous vehicles experience the same thing in this particular dip in the road. These are a good value. They give you what you would expect in this price-range, maybe even more. After a year plus they still look relatively new. I can tell that the tread depth isn't exactly what it was, but it looks pretty close. I think they could pass for that "new tire" look.

Falken Tires Review

5

We have Falken Tires on our 2006 Toyota Corolla. We purchased them from Firestone a few years ago. We drive this car very little and it only gets a few thousand miles on it each year. The tires have held up great and I envision and hope we will have them for several more years. We live in central Texas so we do not have too much ice, but we do get a lot of rain. The tires do well while its raining, on slick road and on the occasional ice storm. The tires perform well on neighborhood streets and on the highway. They have not shown much wear, however, this is not our primary household vehicle. The tires were a fair price. They were not the most expensive and not the cheapest - but they are a good mid price range tire for the normal family for minimal use. I would recommend these tires and they would be ones I would like to purchase again when it is time to replace the four tires that we have now.

Smooth quiet tires.

I have been using these tires since the spring and I really like them so far. I have used Falken tires in the past and these seem to be quite better and more improved. They are good in the rain and I feel confident when I drive in the rain. In the snow they are not that good. They are actually an all season tire, and that means it should be good in the snow, but it actually is a little slippery in the snow. The design makes them look cool and they are smooth and very quiet tires. I have about 10k miles on them and the tread still looks pretty new. They do not seem to wear out real fast. And they cost less than most brands. It's a very good high performance tire. The tires give the car a sexy look and a low profile look to the car. The tires will really make you wheels stand out also if you have nice designer type wheels like chrome. On the highway they are nice on corners at high speeds and I do not mean speeding, just your average speed.

Do not buy these tires

1

I bought these tires about 2 years and 10 months ago. I recently went to have my oil changed and they said the tires measured a 2 and needed to be replaced. I said they have a 3 year warranty don't I get them replaced. They told me that it was a prorated warranty and I would have to pay for the labor. So it would cost me almost 95% of what I paid. I only drive 3 miles each way to work a day and they are already worn out? I thought to myself since I only drive such a short distance I will keep the tires for now. For the last month I have been stuck in my own driveway and on my own street multiple times since I have no tread. I also have missed my street many times to turn. I slow down to about 5 miles an hour to turn and my car just slides right by the street and I have to turn down the next street to get to my home. So even if someone wants to give you these tires for free say thanks but no thanks.

Decent all season tire

As an all season tire, this tire is pretty good. Reasonably priced compared to similar tires. The lateral grip is just okay, but then again it is an all season tire. In the wet they hold pretty good, but seeing as how I live in Southern California I don't deal with too much rain. I forget what the tread wear rating is on these tires, but I put over 12,000 miles on my last set and they still had plenty of tread left. In cold weather they do tend to feel stiffer. But after a few minutes driving it gets better. On the road they aren't the quietest tire out there, but they are the loudest either. It isn't an all out sports tire, so the feed back you get from the road is some what numb, but for an all season tire it isn't too bad. So if you are looking for a lower priced all season that can get you through most of the year, these will suit you just fine. On a side note, I can't comment on snow and ice since I have never used them on snow and ice. In the dirt they are okay though.

Great all season tires

We bought these tires about 2 years ago for our 2002 Toyota 4 door sedan. I bought them from the local Pepboys and also bought the extended warranty along with them. I have driven them through the past two summer and winter seasons in Chicago. They have performed extremely well on the highway and provide a very quiet ride. I have had no issues with cornering in turns at high speeds as well. These tires do provide adequate grip in a few inches of snow but did not perform as well in deep snow of 6 inches or more. I would definitely recommend them for people who live in climates of wet and dry seasons. The treading is at most average compared to other similarly priced tires. These tires are definitely not top of the line but they are not the cheapest brand out there either. We would definitely buy these again for ourselves and have recommended them to family and friends.

Great in the wet!

The Falken ZX912 is a great, reasonbly priced all-weather tire. It's semi-aggressive, unidirectional tread makes short work of standing water in highway driving. From my days of autocrossing my FIAT X1/9 in the 1970's I came to appreciate an agressive tread pattern on performance tires. As I got older and needed a larger 4-door automobile, I decided not to get away from this idea. The Falken tires have given me good mileage as well as not having to worry in rain driving. Even in the Taurus, I can still drive in the rain and have good directional traction around corners, no matter how wet it might get.I highly recommend this tire to any mid size car owner. The high performance asymetric tread uni-directional tire that Michelin pioneered in the 1960s and 70s lives on in this tire, but with increase mileage and a less noisey tread design.
