Facing the Giants is an awesome film.  It tells the story of a man struggling in his walk of faith in life.  He faces many challenges along the way and finds that most of it is because he tries to do it alone.  When he realizes his need for God and learns to walk in that his life begins to change.  He faces thing with his team, friends, his wife and just within himself.  He learns how seeking help from God will in turn help him to lead and teach the young men that he coaches.  He also learns how when he begins to line his life up with the Lord that he is truly blessed.  A must see for the... review »

My friend suggested watching this movie, after a some what stressful week.  I had heard it was pretty good, so we rented the movie.  It is a Christian movie about a high school football coach.

The coach finds himself facing his 'giants', when finds out he may not be able to have children, he might lose his job and his car keeps breaking down.  He looks to the Bible and God to find the strength and know how to overcome his 'giants' and take is so-so football team to the state championship and face the football giants, a team much larger and stronger.

The movie has a great message.  I would...

My husband and I went to the theatre to see this movie.  There weren't many people there but the response to the movie was overwhelming.  This movie is an action packed chick flick -- in other words, something for the men into action and sports and something for the women.  You could tell others felt the same way.  In the theatre, people cried at the sad parts and laughed together and cheered together --it was like a big family watching a movie even though we didn't know one another.  The same thing happened when we showed the movie to some young people -- they stood up and started singing... review »

My husband and I were in a hotel on a business trip when we heard on the news that "because of the Christian content of this movie, it is to be rated PG." We had to LAUGH!!  Of all the garbage that is being fed to our youth today, then finally someone comes up with a decent movie with no violence or filthy language and it must be rated PG because of Christian content.  Of course we had to buy it because of the limited number of clean, decent movies offered these days.  This group of people is to be commended for their ability to use limited resources to make movies with such character-building... review »

I saw this movie last year and fell in love with it--not so much because of the acting, which was done by amateurs, but because of the message behind the whole story.  I am not a "holier than thou" person concerning religion, but this movie just gave me an overall good feeling about life.  It made me sad in the beginning and there were some teary eyes, but I bought the DVD to have at home.  It just makes me feel good when times are tough and I want to give up.  It makes me feel human in that, no matter what, I just have to give praise to God in good times and ask for his help so that I will... review »

Do not miss this movie!  The story is excelent.  The production is top notch.  There is no unsuitable language.  The only  possible negative, which I didn't find any problem with because of the way it was handled so carefully and without intimate details, is that a husband and wife speak of not being able to have a baby.  But, the way it was presented, was in NO way explicit or cause for concern in my book.  When I watch it again, I would allow my 7 year old to see it.  It is, without a doubt, one of the best!   And, best of all, it is decent and has a message we all need to hear.

Though this movie may not be the film critics choice for acting...it truly was an engaging movie.  My 10 yr old son loved it so much he wanted to find more movies like it.  This movie had such a great story and Godly concept.  It touched me deeply and helped me view what a christian marriage could be like, what a christian man could portray and how one person truly CAN make a difference in many lives.

I give this 2-THUMBs up ;-)

I had heard about this movie for months, but never really had a desire to watch it.  My sister had it in her collection of DVD movies so I decided to give it a shot.  I was truly a great movie!  The acting was not the greatest but the story alone makes it worth watch.  I cried and laughed.  It was truly heart warming.  It is definitely a must see movie for the entire family: the young and the old!!!

Incredible movie on the faithfulness of God.  Nothing seems to be going right for this football coach with a 6-year losing streak, but when he gets his priorities right and puts God first in his life, things begin to turn around in his life.  When he teaches his team to put God first, their playing turns around and they begin winning, going all the way to the state championships.

I am not a sports fan, but I am making a whole hearted exception for this film.  This is a story of relationships, delving deeply into the character's struggles, fears, joys, mistakes and victories.  Football is really incidental to the story.  I loved this movie, over and over again!

Probably my all-time favorite movie.  "Facing the Giants" is an incredible story of determination and doing the right thing to overcome incredible odds by the grace of God.
