Facing the Giants —
My husband and I went to the theatre to see this movie. There weren't many people there but the response to the movie was overwhelming. This movie is an action packed chick flick -- in other words, something for the men into action and sports and something for the women. You could tell others felt the same way. In the theatre, people cried at the sad parts and laughed together and cheered together --it was like a big family watching a movie even though we didn't know one another. The same thing happened when we showed the movie to some young people -- they stood up and started singing and dancing to the song at the end. We bought the movie for ourselves and have watched it again as it was so good. I read some reviews that said it had a predictable ending -- maybe so, but I like stories with a happy ending. And all along the way, the family and the football players learn about God's ways and how to praise Him in everything. Christians should have a different perspective even when bad things happen and this movie demonstrated this in real life situations that people go through. Great movie for teens -- I can say the young people who saw it all thought it was good. And of course, we adults liked it over and over.
