I got started with facebook a couple of years ago when it was just open to college students, and I liked the website a lot more when it was like that. It is a great way to connect with people that you go to school with or went to school with in the past. I reconnected with a lot of my old friends… read full review »

A friend of mine sent me an email inviting me to join Facebook and become their friend.  I had heard of the website before but had not idea what it was like.  I tried to look at my friend's profile but was not able to unless I opened up an account.  I put it off for a while and about… read full review »

I was "early on" with Facebook. I had an "in" when the space was restricted to college users only. I was along for the ride when they opened it up to high school kids and now that the gates have been thrown wide open - anyone can sign up. — My account is buried. I won't go into details. I just needed one to pick up some photos (with permission). If I'm lurking there (not really - but you get the idea), imagine who else might be. I was concerned about this before they opened the site to the general public. I figured if I could slip in and not looking for trouble, then imagine… read full review »

I first joined facebook, really to promote my music, through a couple of music themed sites, Garageband, a free site for posting legal and rating music, and Ilike, a music oriented site for bands and their fans, with connections to buy at Apple I-tunes. — — So, I joined. At facebook, you can become "friends" with people you know or who have common interests. My friends at Facebook center around 4 major groups: — - epinions users (one group) — - musicians — - Lutherans (I work at the Lutheran center and support their programs) — - young adults I know (music… read full review »

Facebook is a good website for students to communicate with one another.  Although I don't find it to be quite as exciting as Myspace, it is still a great place for College students, and High School students a like to vent there emotions, and let their voices be heard.  Facebook is also a perfect site for event planning and networking in general. … read full review »

I became a facebook member my senior year of high school, because back then you needed a college email address in order to join, and I loved it!  I thought it was awesome that you could add friends, write messages that were private, or leave public one's on a person's wall, make photo albums, and tell people a little about yourself.  I became addicted very quickly. — To this day (about 3 years later) I am still a facebook addict- I'll check it like 7 times a day easily, which isn't the best thing when I have hw to do and tests to study for.  But Facebook isn't what it… read full review »

Facebook is one of the many social networking sites out there. In just a few months it has grown from a small unknown site into a powerhouse competing with MySpace. — — I'm a college student, and I use Facebook frequently to keep in touch with my friends. However, recently the site has taken a turn for the worse. Don't get me wrong, I still like the site and will still use it, but many of the new features are bad. Every week it's becoming more and more like MySpace, and I joined Facebook to get away from MySpace! The applications are very confusing and annoying, even for a… read full review »

Facebook is fun - even for older (i.e., over 30) folks. Me and my friends always have Scrabble games going, trivia contests, etc. I am NOT able to get onto anyone's page that is NOT a "friend." In fact, you cannot even be a friend of someone until they invite you and/or you are accepted. I have had no problems with security issues on the site. — — If the young folk want to post their soft-porn/drunken photos on their websites - and somehow a potential employer see them - hey - better for those of us that don't do such  nonsense - may then we will be considered for the job.… read full review »

Facebook, while it does have a small learning curve, uses a much cleaner and more intuitive interface than MySpace, making it much easier to use.  Albums allow you to upload and share pictures, and a variety of optional applications allow you to personalize your space and Facebook experience.  You can send messages to friends, jot notes or draw pictures on their profiles, play games, and more.  The system is designed to be somewhat "closed," so only your friends can see your information, which provides a level of security.  It also allows you to network, by seeing who is… read full review »

A couple years ago, I tried to sign up on Facebook and was required to include a college email address.  Since I wasn't going to college at the time, I decided not to bother with it and continued to use MySpace instead. — After a few of my friends were ranting and raving about Facebook and about all the people they reconnected with after logging on, I was confused and asked them how they were able to join if they didn't have a college email address.  They informed me that now anyone could join Facebook and the first thing I should do when I got home was to set up an… read full review »

Facebook is a great web site.  Because I live so far away from my friends in the midwest.  We never lose contact because of facebook.  I always find new friends and the applications continue to grow.  I enjoy that you can write private messages or public messages.  I will use this web site… read full review »

Facebook and I have only just become acquainted, and I am getting SO much fun out of this website. I am shocked at how easy it is to use this website to re-connect with so many of my old college and graduate school friends. Since I, like any sensible person, always restrict my photos and postings to "friends only", I have little to no concern about something "embarassing" leaking into the interwebs and tarnishing my reputation. — It's true, if you start trying to use every application on Facebook and accepting every random person who tries to be-friend you online, you will soon be… read full review »

Just like any site facebook has its perks and its draw backs. — — I personally like facebook because it is easier to locate people from your past on it because they do make you register with your full name. At first this kind of freaked me out, I do not want my real name out there, but then I realized that the privacy settings do not allow for all of your info to be out there for everyone to see. — Second I like facebook because of the applications. Sure I have far too many, but I have met some really great people through the applications and they give me something to do… read full review »

Facebook is great for keeping in touch with old friends, new friends, etc. That being said, I much prefer the classic facebook without the 50 million new applications, the newsfeed, etc. I dislike the newsfeed because I feel like everyone on my friends list can know who I am talking to, what we are saying, and what I am doing with who (hence--stalker friendly). It's nice to know who's dating who and who's birthday it is, but that's really all I want to know. And all the applications do is clutter up people's pages and waste time. It's definitely easy to get on facebook and waste an hour just… read full review »

I joined Facebook.com recently only for two reasons. These two reasons being the fact that many of my friends have a facebook and it has a massive database of people which you can also search for unlike bebo and hi5, despite you being able to search for an email address on bebo, you can search for a name on Facebook. With myself being a very big Leicester City fan (please don't be biased when marking this review :)) I have searched for several Leicester City players and have been succesful in finding young talents Richard Stearman and James Wesolowski. This is evidence showing the support… read full review »
