A couple years ago, I tried to sign up on Facebook and was required to include a college email address. Since I wasn't going to college at the time, I decided not to bother with it and continued to use MySpace instead.
After a few of my friends were ranting and raving about Facebook and about all the people they reconnected with after logging on, I was confused and asked them how they were able to join if they didn't have a college email address. They informed me that now anyone could join Facebook and the first thing I should do when I got home was to set up an account. Of course that is what I did.
Initially, I was really confused as to how it actually worked. None of the profiles were viewable unless you belonged to that person's network (whatever that was) and I couldn't find anyone that I knew - until I used their address book import feature. As soon as I did that, I discovered that WAY more people than I thought had facebook. Where had I been?
I am still addcited to myspace, even though it's pretty juvenile - I know how to use it and most of my friends (if not more) are on Myspace and NOT on facebook. I was able to reconnect with SOME friends that had a facebook account and not a myspace - but the difference wasn't enough to keep me logging on everyday.
Overall I would rate this website as average. Afterall, MySpace is begining to have some of the same features that facebook so why should I bother?
