I became a facebook member my senior year of high school, because back then you needed a college email address in order to join, and I loved it! I thought it was awesome that you could add friends, write messages that were private, or leave public one's on a person's wall, make photo albums, and tell people a little about yourself. I became addicted very quickly.
To this day (about 3 years later) I am still a facebook addict- I'll check it like 7 times a day easily, which isn't the best thing when I have hw to do and tests to study for. But Facebook isn't what it used to be, and it's kind of a bittersweet feeling.
All of a sudden, almost over night it seemed, Facebook had like all these new applications that anyone could just make. I logged in one day and saw I had a request to join graffiti, and ilike, and comparing people, and bumper stickers, and I was a little overwhelmed. There are hundreds of different applications out there, but if you just know what you want, it really isn't so bad. My friends invited me to all the apps that I have now, I don't except them all, just ones I really like, because I hate going on someone's page who has like 20 different applications (no exaggeration) and you have to search for their wall. It's a little annoying, and a little obnoxious.
However there are some applications I really love, like grafitti, and the bumper stickers, and scrabulous, they make facebook a little more addicting. So, a lot of people don't really like the new facebook, but I can't really say that. I don't like when people have EVERYTHING on their page, but I think it's cool that we have so many choices, you can get across your personality a little better now.
