Tried to order a game online using a giftcard and paying the balance thru paypal.  Order went thru but dropped the giftcard completely.  No address was entered and no confirmation was received online or thru email so re-ordered the item using giftcard and credit card to pay balance.  Got 2 confirmation emails then.  Tried to cancel the first one but their system did not register any order.  Tried to contact customer service thru phone and online.  No response.  Never got any response from customer service other than automated emails.  Both items shipped… read full review »

As a former FYE employee, I have quite a clear opinion of the whole Transworld Entertainments company. And I can say that FYE has a much wider selection of movies and music than most stores offer. What is not carried in-store can be SPECIAL ORDERED, which is not something that most stores are willing to do. And for the most part, the employees at most FYE's generally know their stuff. Particularly the managers. While it might not always be the cheapest place to shop (this is a big downfall for the company), it is definitely reliable and accessible. I have been collecting several different types of movies for quite some time, always having to go to e-bay or amazon and having a hard time finding what I wanted.  However, as soon as I started going to the FYE in Traverse City, MI, I started having conversations with an employee named Josh.  He is TRULY a wonderful person.  When I come in with a list of movies or CDs that I want, he drops everything and helps me find what I'm looking for; sometimes the process takes upwards of an hour.  I should mention that all the other employees at this FYE are wonderful also.  I… read full review »
