jrwasko says "Expensive but worth every cent" about FURminator Large

I saw a girl in the building where I live using it and asked her about it. Brace yourself these are very expensive but they are stainless steel which is good. Before I would work for hours on my lab Godiva getting out gobs of hair and never get anywhere close to getting it all. The first time you use the brush on your dog heed their advice and go to the basement, garage, or outdoors because you will have more hair than you can ever imagine. I made the mistake of brushing out the lab in my living room. It is 12x20. By the time I was finished the ENTIRE living room flor was covered with 6+ inches of hair. It was enough hair that filled a food storage bag stuffed to the gills. Once I was done the lab was frisky she felt soo good. Since then I brush her out every week and barely have any hair around the house anymore. The one thing she does let me do when I am finished brusheing her is run the sticky lint roller over her to pick up the remaining loose hair. Some say that...
...

We bought the FURminator for our husky mix who sheds like a madman in the summer. It is awesome. The yard is filled with fur after every use. The house is cleaner, and I don't feel like I need to vacuum every day anymore! The only downside is that it is so expensive. I think I paid close to $60 which is nuts. Should be at least $20 cheaper!
...

ottiscat says "Awesome tool to end excessive shedding" about FURminator Large

Recently, a friend groomed my Rhodesian Ridgeback with a new tool she had purchased called the FURminator. My dog shed excessively and for the first time in 11 years not one hair was left behind!Well, I immediately ran out and bought one of my own.I looked in various pet stores and the price was around $60, so I went online and finally purchased a new one on Ebay for about$45.This is the best grooming tool by far.For the first time ever my dog is shed free and I don't have piles of fur all over my home.I feel better and my dog is happy. She hasn't got her usual itchy summer coat !This tool looks like a lot of other products, but don't be fooled, none compare to The FURminator! They also have tools for cats too.It is a bit expensive compared to other tools but if you want a hair free home this is the way to go.It's so easy to use and guarenteed to last a lifetime or your money back.Have a healthy shiny coat on your dog and no bothersome hairs covering your furniture and clothing.
...

I love my cats but I was restricted to wearing khaki or white because of all of the fur! All of my furniture was constantly covered in cat hair. I was skeptical after having purchased numerous brushes that were not effective, but I gave the Furminator a try. It was a little expensive but I looked at it as a potential investment in my sanity. One of my cats actually loves it! The other one tolerates it a little at a time, which is a victory in itself. The hair that comes off with the first brushing is unbelievable! With each subsequent use I get less hair off of them but I always get something. The cats look and feel better and I can sit on the couch! The tool is easy to use, has a comfortable grip and it easy to "empty". This was a great find and I recommend it.
...

I was really skeptical about the Furminator because me dog has pretty coarse hair and all of the videos I had seen were using dogs with very "fluffy" hair. It's fairly expensive, but it was so worth it! My dog has black hair with a brown undercoat and it works worderfully! I noticed a marked reduction in the amount of dog hair on my floors and furniture after using it. The first time I used it, I filled up 3 plastic grocery bags with the hair that it removed. It's not as soft for the dog as using a regular brush, but he certainly doesn't seem to mind it. I generally use it about 2-3 times a week, mostly for maintenance. It's extremely sturdy, too. This is a GREAT investment!
...

PointsGirl says "The FURminator saved my vacuum cleaner!!" about FURminator Large

We have a Shiba Inu. He is beautiful, but he is SO HAIRY. Twice a year, he goes through a very heavy shedding cycle. Shibas have a "double coat" so they shed globs of hair at a time. We can brush him every day -- with a regular brush -- and still have hair flying around the house.

With the FURminator, we have eliminated the flying hair and cut down on the number of times that we need to brush our Shiba. He still sheds a ton, but now I can keep it off of my sofa, carpets, and out of my eyes and mouth because the FURminator does that good of a job on thinning his coat.

I would recommend the FURminator to anyone who has to constantly vacuum the dog hair in their house. The FURminator has saved my vacuum from dying, as two of my previous vacuums have...from clogging up with so much dog hair.

The price of this product is well worth it; you'll be glad you have it!!

The FURminator is the best investment that I personally have ever made for grooming my cats. I bought it on ebay for half the price and twice the product, as my furminator has a self-cleaning head. The first time I used it, I swear I could have made an extra cat out of the fur that was groomed! I have groomed all five of my cats (2 short hairs, 3 long hairs) and the difference it has made in furballs, shedding and the overall look of my cats is nothing short of amazing. I highly recommend this product to anyone with a cat or dog.
...

lharper704 says "The Furminator Grooming Toll cut my vacuming 90%!" about FURminator Large

I was having to swiffer my hardwood floors once a day and vacuum the carpets too. After using the Furminator I cut that down to only once a week. This thing is simply amazing. I've used a couple of different grooming tools on my dog, Ginger, including the several different kinds of brushes, and have never found anything to have any real "wow" factor. The Furminator pulled off so much hair I think I can make another dog out of it.

I reviewed the product a lot, because it was a little costly. After talking to several friends and reading the reviews I bit the bullet and tried it. I am so glad that I did. It is so worth it!

threedognight says "What a great find" about FURminator Large

The FURminator, what a find! A little back ground here: I live with three dogs and two cats; two yellow Labs and a hyperactive (but loveable) Springer Spaniel pupply. All indoor animals. Added to the mix is a husband with allergies to both dogs and cats. I was in constant clean mode trying to stay ahead of the dog hair, especially when the seasons change and the shedding really increased. It seemed I could brush each dog daily and vacuum daily yet there was still little balls of dog hair floating around. Black pants or sweaters were not worn by anyone in my family and a lint brush was found in almost every room Then I found The FURminator. After reading the directions I took one Lab outside (don't use this in the house) along with a plastic grocery bag. After a short time, less than 20 minutes, I had a FULL bag of dog hair! I was amazed. I repeated this with each dog with the same results. So day two I did it again - WOW - again at least a bag of dog hair. This...
...

nicki2442 says "works well...if you put in the work" about FURminator Large

From what I have read, this works by combing out the undercoat. It works well, if you are willing to put in the time. The comb/blade is thin and it takes many strokes to get hair out. It removes small layers of hair at a time and they are often static-y...so I always end up with a mess all over the room. It is costly and so are the replacement blades. After using, my dogs coats are shiny and I only need to use the furminator about once a month. You have to be careful because the blade is sharp and it hurts the dogs skin if you brush too deep.
...

As a Groomer and slave to two hairy cats, i need the Furminator Shedless tool, i simply love it and use it on my own animals. Every month or so, the rest of the time i brush them at home and it keeps the shedding away.

The tool can be a bit scary to use at first, gotta apply the right kind of pressure and a *philistin* to the art of grooming can potentially hurt the animal if they press too hard while brushing so patience is recommended.

My cats are use to it by now so they don't hate it, cats in general don't like to be groomed (with the sometime exception). Like i said before, technique and patience....
