I have three mixed breeds dogs and this works best on the spaniel mix dog that has a thick undercoating and longer fur. The dogs that are lab mixes do not seem to have the undercoat that the furminator works best on. The spaniel mix loves to be brushed when I use it and stands still until I have at least 2 grocery bags full of hair. it really works to pull out the old winter coat when they start to shed.
