Most of the grooming products I have/use are by FURminator and I made no exception when it came to which shampoo to use. It works just like I expected it to. After her bath, my dog shedded very little, if at all, and it's been a few weeks since her last bath and shedding is still at a minimum. What was surprising though was how great this stuff smells. It's not too strong and overpowering, nor is it too weak. My dog doesn't have that wet-dog smell after her bath and instead smells very pleasant. Furthermore, the scent doesn't just wear off in a day or two. Like I said, it's been a few weeks since her bath and she still smells amazing. I go on daily walks with her and take her to the dog park and she'll smell not-so-great for half an hour or so because she's all hot and sweaty, but once she cools down and has time to "air out", she smells great! Also, this product did wonders for the condition of her skin and coat. She used to scratch all the time and her fur was starting to dull, but FURminator brought her fur back to life and wasn't too drying on her skin - she doesn't scratch as much anymore! Overall, a very great product. I'm very happy and so is my pup.

I have used both the LARGE and MEDIUM sized FURminators on my 2 Huskies who shed a ton during the warm months -which is most of the time here in California!!  Since they both work so well, I thought it best to try the FURminator shampoo on them too and guess what?? It works wonders just as well so it is a good match up to the Furminator tools !  We do not use this every day because it may not be good for their coat. But we try to use it at least every other week especially during the warmer months.  It seems like there is less fur and sheddings all around our house after using this. I would not recommend using this all year round so maybe switch it up with a gentler shampoo during the cold winter months. This also has a nice smell to it and does not seem to dry their coat - which still looks shiny and just as healthy.  I don't know if there is a separate conditioner to use but I would try it if they made it.

I have two basset hounds that seem to shed hair all year long. Sometimes it is worse than others but nonetheless I am battling hair all the time. So when my mother-in-law (who owns her own grooming and boarding place) told me about the shampoo, I had to try it. First of all, it smells great! Secondly, the amount of hair that is left floating in the tub after bath time is amazing. Way more hair than I was getting off of them with just normal dog shampoo. I think it works better if you use the furminatot tool/brush in conjunction with the shampoo. I seem to get the best results if I furminate them first, bathe them and then furminate them wet. When I do the furminate/bathe combo hair is minimal around my house for a good 2 weeks or so. My only complaint is that you have to stay on it. I believe the bottle says to bathe them with the shampoo like once a week or every two weeks and about the end of the second week/begining of the third you will start to see the hair piling up on them. So I wish the results would last a little longer, but overall I can't complain, it really does work.

I took my pet to a pet store to have him groomed wiith the furminator process which ended up being a hefty bill I felt like but when he came out he looked so sleek - the shampoo and comb were to expensive in the store but I found a web site that had them both for less than half the cost of the tool.  Such a sleek coat after washing, blowing dry on low and although it takes a good bit of time it was amazing the amount of hair that came out of my dog who is a large dog but I had not realized how much undercoating had built up. The shampoo is nice scented and the comb can also be used any time during the between shampoo times and of course the collie loves the back scratching feel of the comb and does not mind laying still for a good rub down. I think this shampoo is a good product and worth the money and effort in following the directions to get the best results is also helpful. It was nice to find a web site that had the tools/shampoo for less than in the store too!

My groomer gave me the Furminator Deshedding Shampoo to try on my dog who is a shedding monster.  I was amazed at the amount of hair that came off the dog while we were shampooing!  We brushed her after her bath and lots more came off.  It was a good 6 weeks before I started seeing her shed again.  I love this stuff!
