FTD Review Summary

Shopping online for flowers? FTD.com is here to help you. This online florist is the oldest in the business and it has helped many customers with purchases of floral arrangements and plants over several decades. But reviewer opinion is mixed with FTD.com. On the good side, reviewers rave about the beautiful arrangements of flowers they received and the timeliness of delivery. But there are just as many negative comments as positive, with some members claiming that FTD.com has excessive shipping charges and doesn’t honor its promises. FTD.com offers “Beautiful Flowers” and “Fresh, Beautiful Orchids, Complete Care Instructions”. But other reviewers offer contrasting opinions like “You Don’t Get What You Pay For”. This mixture of positive and negative comments make FTD.com a below average Shopping Web Site experience and one that many would rather not repeat.

I used FTD for the first time this past Easter to send a miniature rose bush to my grandmother, who has grown award-winning roses since before I can remember. I was a little wary of ordering from a site like this at first, having known other people who've had problems with ordering from the big flower... review »

I have used FTD in the past and never had a problem.  Up until this past week I definitely would have recommended them.  However, this last experience used up any patience I normally show and it definitely used up any second chances!

On the Sunday night before Thanksgiving, my husband ordered me roses...

this was the most horrible experience ever, never had one yet like this with online purchase. forgot about fellow employee problem last year or would have never tried. flowers shipped from florida took 3 days. missed delivery date. were never able to connect via telephone (45 min wait once, over an hour next morning) or email. never emailed response to inquiry or to complaint email which was separate. had the nerve to email me about next day delivery possible when the flowers i had ordered 2 days before hadn't arrived. were they crazy and i had paid $14.00 plus for s&H. will only use local florist... review »

I had three FTD gift ceft. They were for twenty dollars each. Totaling 60.00. I called FTD to use them and was told I could only use one at a time. Meaning one per purchase.  Twenty dollars did not even cover shipping and handling.  I was furious. I spent one hour arguing with them why I could not use all three gift cert at one time. Well it is there policy. They also informed me they could only be redeemed on and not in a store. Then I was told since it was for Valentines day  I could not use a gift ceft. I finally said just forget it.

At Easter  I went on-line to see what they had for Easter...

Sent two Mothers Day bouquets this year from FTD.com to two different cities. From both accounts, they arrived nearly at the same time! My mother thought her arrangement was exceptional, loved the colors and flowers used, though from the photos she sent me the colors were not quite the same as what was shown on the web site. Mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law also loved their (different) arrangement.  Both were delivered the Saturday before Mother's Day. No complaints - easy to order, everything was right, and three very happy women!

I ordered the flowers on Friday, they were delivered on Saturday as promised, the day before Mothers Day.  There was a good selection of cut flowers as well as plants in every price range.  The delivery charge was a little higher than some other sites I compared, but they were delivered on time and had the best selection.  I would use FTD again.

I ordered the premium bunch of flowers for my mother for Mother's Day.  When I went over and saw the flowers, they  looked like what the advertised picture was.  They were nowhere near bigger and more abundant blooms, and certainly not worth the $90 I spent on them.

Okay, I have to be honest here. The experience I relate was from using FTD last Valentines Day, but in reading some of this years stories, it seems they haven't changed.

Customer service and satisfaction is very LOW on their list!

Last year, I ordered a nice (NICE??) boquet of roses for my wife! They arrived looking like something from The Adams Family (look it up). They were quite dead looking.

When I e-mailed my dissatisfaction, it was not answered. When I tracked down a phone number and called, it was, of course, all my fault for living out in the country (why did they sell them to me then?).

They...

A very special occasion in our family took place when our daughter-in-law was sworn in as a US Citizen. We thought it was a suitable event to celebrate with a bouquet of roses.

We found FTD on line and ordered a dozen roses delivered to her home in suburban Chicago. It was advertised as a "special" at $29.99.

Before I checked out, i received a shopping cart summary with $14.00 added for delivery. I was surprised and disappointed. After all, this is an online company. You would think they would have covered any delivery fees in their pricing notice. I don't expect them to include delivery in the...

I used the online system to order flowers for my mother.  I did it only a couple of days before mothers day.  The online system worked pretty well for that transaction - except it kept telling me I had the wrong address when the problem was it didn't like some of the characters in the password.  I spent about 10 minutes going around and around trying to guess what version of my address they wanted before I decided to try creating a different password.  I was disappointed that the service fee was not shown until after I put in my credit card.  And it was not a small service fee.  My mom loved...

Boy oh boy what a waste of a 800 number I was on hold for 1 hr and a half on Fri , Sat &  Sun. You see my Mother received her flowers on Thursday and the roses that were red were all but dead! The florist they contracted out with didn't bother to put any ferns or babys breath...Oh and they were half dead. Did I say that already? They pulled away the pedals so it looked like it was a young bud...oh but I beg to differ. So I quickly called the 800(going no where) number and never got any answer. I then sent an email ( like they request you do) and lets pretend we don't know what happened...Ahhhhhhhh...

I ordered a set of gifts for our 20th anniversary getaway.  All came in on the date promised BUT the roses were sent from MIAMI - PROMISED FRESHEST FLOWERS ARRANGED BY LOCAL FLORISTS??? - AND, GET THIS, A note included said they were from a another country!!!  No, the flowers did not look fresh, as they clearly were not, and they were wrapped tightly for the box with no water.  They looked old and sad, needed lots of trimming and thinning, though it somewhat revived, still not "local" or "fresh."

Also in the order was a bouquet of 6 "I Love You" balloons - ONE WAS "WE LOVE YOU" !!! Now how can...

I used them on Valentines day and they charged me double, would not use my gift certificate which I lost by inputting the number(another 20 dollars)and would not reimburse me. AT ALL. Not only that, but when I found out it was not working, I tried to cancel the order (about 10 minutes later) and they said it was already being delivered and they couldn't cancel it. What? that is complete cow fodder! They would not even have the decency to pick up their help line or answer the e-mail help call I sent until a week later. They are horrid. Do not trust something that means love to these unfeeling jerks.... review »

I sent three bunches of flowers for mother's day: two grandmas and my mom. Two grandmas received bunches on time and loved them; my one grandma could not read the personal message because it was handwritten in very bad, small handwriting. I told her I'd assumed it would be typed! My mom's bunch was one day late - and had been scheduled for Tuesday after Mother's Day, arrived on Wednesday. She said the flowers were in good condition, however. For the money ($18 delivery fee!!) it is really not a great deal at all.

i ordered flowers for the mother of my boss on thursday late afternoon. they delivered the flowers the next day and they were beautiful i am told. however, it was impossible to get a nice arrangement for less than $65 including delivery. i just think there could be some less expensive alternatives that don't look cheap.

FTD has an excellent reputation but i think its worth shopping around for a better bargain and i will do that next time for sure.
