As I have mentioned before, in my review of 1-800-Flowers.com, I like to send my favorite Aunt a simple straw basket of white daisies adorned with either a red, white and blue ribbon or a small flag for the Fourth of July.  Each year, this is what I have done although I have sometimes of necessity had to order the daisies from a different floral website if 1-800-Flowers.com "dropped the ball".  Well, this year, much to my amazement, everybody seemed to drop the ball.  All I could find anywhere were glamourous daisies in dramatic colors which was not the quiet summer ambiance I was shooting for at all.  Not only that, but most of the websites I rooted through (with increasing frustration) didn't even have Independence Day floral arrangements or a very poor selection if at all.  I realize, of course, that the Fourth is not a major holiday as far as florists are concerned but for everyone to lose interest at once was a bit unsettling.

Enter, FTD.com.

Fortunately, the patriotic folks at FTD.com were there for me.  As a matter of fact, they were also a bit wanting in the simple white daisy bouquet train of thought as well but they had a nice Fourth of July selection including the darling Todd Oldham Stars & Stripes Mini Rose Bushes.  (See picture above.)  Either the Stripes or Stars Mini Rose plants were $39.99 each which I must admit may be a little pricy.  Too late I discovered that I could have sent both for $49.99 (a deal which I will remember to look for next year).

Indeed, I will be back next year.  Using FTD.com had frankly never occurred to me before but they have a nice assortment of merchandise, delivery was dependable, my Aunt said that the flowers were beautiful and I was able to access FTD.com through MyPoints.com and earned 500 points for the purchase.

And all because the other merchants I had depended on in the past dropped the ball.
