Forced to Use Express Scripts, What a Mess!

2

I'm all for home delivery of things. It is a great time saver, money saver and is super convenient. The key to this equation is actually having the items delivered in a timely manner! This, by far is where Express Scripts fails, which is fantastic given their name. Express Scripts is the pharmacy my employer has selected and assigned to us. I don't have another option when it comes to "maintenance medication." This can be a really sticky situation when you're just establishing what your maintenance medications will be. With some medications you have to titrate the dosage. This often seems to be by far too difficult for the employees at Express Scripts to handle. I spent over a week going back and forth with their customer service agents trying to get the proper dosage of my medications delivered. Which didn't work! I ended up having to get a filler month prescription from Wal-Mart, and then had to wait an extra three weeks for Express Scripts to deliver my 90-day supply. So frustrating!!

Deplorable level of service

1

Customer service reps are rude, apathetic and indifferent. Uncaring in an industry where the public are in need of truly caring and dependable service. The home delivery of medication can be a life and death situation for patients that cannot leave the house on their own but still need their medications. This service is undependable and unprofessional. My wife's prescription has taken more than 3 weeks for an in stock item. Contacting them on the phone is not a pleasant experience and they are not willing or trained to solve problems. I would suggest not doing business with Medco Express Scripts home delivery if it can be avoided. I am currently in talks with my health benefits coordinator to file several complaints with them and the pharmaceutical licensing board.

2 months and still have not received my rx!

1

I was diagnosed with depression at the age of 19, and I'm now 38. I have tried every SSRI in the book, and none has worked except Cymbalta, which I have taken for 5 yrs successfully. I got a new job as a RN, and 8 months later I finally joined our insurance plan. Express scripts allowed me to fill the first 2 months rx of Cymbalta, then suddenly denied my claim. I called and was told I needed my MD to pre authorize. I called my MD, who then called them. MD was told I needed to get mail delivery. I called in again and they told me that no, MD pre authorization was needed. Called MD again, who was again told that no I needed mail delivery. I called in and was told AGAIN pre authorization needed. I stopped the rep and said hey, I've been this route 2x and I just need to get my med. Rep was unhelpful and rude. I told rep I am willing to do whatever is needed but I need to know what exactly they want from me. I was out of my med by this point. Rep told me to get samples from doc and pure authorization. I did so, after giving credit card info and asking them to set up delivery. 1.5 month later, still no med. experiencing "brain fog," headaches, "zaps," weepiness, insomnia - all sx's of depression. So what am I paying premiums for? I take only prn - as needed - meds for ulcerative colitis (chronic IBD), and those only rarely. I am healthy. I work hard as a nurse. I pay a lot for my insurance. I feel cheated. If I could drop the insurance for myself and keep my child's, I would. I am stuck.

3 weeks, multiple reps and supervisors and still no script.

1

My docs office and I have contacted Express many times over. The many reps and supervisors each have a different excuse and different instructions for us. The rules are situational depending on who you talk to. They have wasted hours of my time. They are taking valuable doc time. Weeks into this fiasco, I still do not have the medication. Unfortunately, we are locked into this hideous relationship because of Anthem. I have used numerous precription services, this is the all time worst. Prior prescriptions have taken weeks to arrive.

I rather deal with  express scripts them rite aid. I never  have to worry about them not having my medicine.  you can go on the internet and also order your medicine. if you need your medicine on ice  you get in two days. the medicine so much cheaper then any drug store.unless you're getting it free. some are nice on the phone have talk to one that then not know what he was doing are act like it. and you can send the money in later. you also get a trackin g number to keep your eyes on when  it was send.

Terrible terrible....everyone I talk to where I work agrees...

1) sent wrong meds for my husband. 2) sent TWO packages of meds for my husband. 3) Gave us a really hard time because doctor would only prescribe meds every month for daughter.  4) It's been ten days and she hasn't received meds at her college. They won't trace for two more days. She ran out today and has been rushing around trying to get new prescription from doctor.  5) Doesn't save us much money. 6) Meds sit outside in mailbox in all weather. 7) Really really miss just going to the local pharmacy, where people know us and are helpful.
