Expedia.com Review Summary

Online travel services are in great abundance and one of the most popular of them all is Expedia.com, a travel web service that offers flights, hotel reservations, car rentals, cruises, and more. Expedia.com “Finds Real Deals and Saves Your Itineraries” and these are among the many reasons why most reviewers like Expedia.com as much as they do. Steve9631 says, "I use Expedia more than any other travel website for hotel accommodations because they run the full gamut of availabilities in all price ranges, and offer comprehensive information, pictures, maps, and reviews for those facilities viewed." Expedia.com is easy to use and offers good deals, but some reviewers are also quick to note that Expedia.com is really just a middleman, and that means the prices might be slightly higher than those offered by the airline, hotel, cruise business, or car rental business itself. But Expedia.com is still a very good Travel Web Site for those who want to find different travel services all in one place.

Travel is an important part of my life and I have utilized most every travel service on the internet at some point. One web site that I seem to turn to more than any other is Expedia.com. This on- line travel service offers quick flight searches, competitive pricing, and several other services to...

In some of my future reviews you will find that I will talk a lot about my experiences as being a former employee for a large airline for seven years.  There is so much to learn for even all of you frequent flyers out there - so here is my opinion on expedia.com.

With some deals that these Internet companies...

When my wife Rhonda and I decided we would get married in Hawaii and Honeymoon there as well I search a lot of sites trying to put everything together. I got the best rates from Expedia so that's who we went with.

Setting up the Itinerary

First I looked at the hotels that were available for the first week in June and I had many choices, after comparing amenities and ones with a view we chose The Hawaii Prince Hotel because we could get an ocean view. We could also get a king sized bed and had our choice of floor level as well.

The next thing on our list was what sights we could see and they had...

I once frequently used Expedia.  After the experience I had tonight my only involvement with them will be to raise public awareness of their gross incompetence and greed.  I booked a flight and hotel with them for my mother and I to attend my father's memorial.  My mother has now fallen ill and can't make it.  I called Expedia and after 25-minute hold I speak with representative who tells me I can get credit on the flight for my Mother but Delta will charge us $150 for the cancellation - real humanitarians!  I ask him to send me an email record of this.  He puts me on hold and 11 minutes...

I admit, whenever I am planning to travel there are two sites I visit first, Expedia and Continental.  I like Continental because they have non stop flights from Houston to Dayton, where my family lives.  Expedia helps me get started on traveling to my final travel destination by giving me airfares, car rentals, cruise prices, hotel prices, and even amusements in the area. I admit I don't buy the amusements, but they are great for ideas.

What I like about Expedia:

  • easy to use no matter what type of travel help you need
  • saves my searches so I can easily visit again
  • allows me to quickly...

A website with tons of travel information to allow you to make the best decision according to your budget and needs.  I use Expedia more than any other travel website for hotel accommodations because they run the full gamut of availabilities in all price ranges, and offer comprehensive information, pictures, maps, and reviews for those facilities viewed.  When searching the site, you can also fine tune your search around a specific facility or attraction, opening the possibilities of eliminating the need to rent a vehicle.

Expedia offers some very attractive bundled packages, (i.e, air/hotel/car),...

The Good News
With Expedia, you're not required to book both ways on the same airline, but you can if you're a Frequent Flyer with anyone in particular.  This flexible feature is actually part of the reason the rates are so low.    You can also view the available seats before choosing any flight leg.

Not sure what you want to do, but see a few flights you like?  Save your itinerary and come back later, when you travel plans are firm.  This is a HUGE time saver.

If you've just searched for flights into, say, Chicago, then when you go to look at rental cars or hotels, the site defaults...

Many of you have probably happily booked on Expedia and why not? It's easy to book and they answer the phone quick when they are trying to sell a flight.

The site allows you to see nearby airports and compare flights from them, but a lot of sites do that. I like this feature though.

Domestically, you'll find this site to be a quick and easy place to buy a ticket and find flights on multiple airlines. You might save a bit by buying from the airline's own site though. Check here first to find a flight (among other sites) but book elsewhere.

Expedia charges you $5 to book a flight. No big deal. That...

Expedia.com is a disappointment  when I booked from this site and it is said there that it is refundable kind of plane ticket. As a matter of fact I confirmed it also by calling them that if this one planned travel be cancel , I could get my money abut 95% of it . But there an incidence my hubby got sick and we're not be able to travel and I cancelled both tickets ahead of time then they told me I'll be getting most of my money back then wait  for few week it showed up it was credited on my credit card that I used unfortunately out of US$1960 spent on bought tickets supposed I'll be getting US$...

What I like most about this site, is being able to read the review of other travelers.  When we were planning our family vacation to Disneyworld, I visited expedia almost everyday.  I researched resorts we were considering staying at, and I actually chose one based on the reviews I read on expedia.

It's extremely helpful to be able to see what each resort offers BEFORE I get there.  I love that expedia lets me know when and what facilities aren't accessible during my visit.  If I hadn't visited this site, I would have not known that one of the pools was going to be closed for remodeling during...

Around Christmas time my husband and I take a get away trip to Vegas. We don't go every year but we have gone there 2 times using Expedia and we are in the process of planning our 3rd trip with Expedia.

We have never had any problems with Expedia because they offer so much info. You can see where your hotel is located on a map, look at your rooms before you stay, see what others have to say about that hotel. Not to mention...my favorite part...you can change the departure time on your tickets (we like to sleep in a bit!) You can order event tickets and rent a car too. We've not used all of these...

Recently, my boyfriend and I booked a trip to Jamaica through Expedia.com. Unfortunately, due to Hurricane Gustav, we had to change our itinerary at the last minute (the day before we were scheduled to leave). After 8 long hours talking to Expedia representatives on the phone, my boyfriend and I decided to change our itinerary to going to Los Cabos, Mexico. I spent several hours on the phone with a rep trying to change our itinerary last minute. I was informed that the hotel in Cabo was $418 more than the hotel in Jamaica. We also had to change our Continental flights....

First, let me describe to you what Expedia.com is.. Expedia.com allows you to make your travel arrangements much easier by offering a service that is beyond high-quality. You can basically search for Airfare, Lodging, Car Rentals, Vacation Packages, and Cruises; as well as news and information that is occuring in the travel industry or at the location you wish to travel to.

User-Friendly, High-Speed, and Accurate
Expedia.com has to be the easiest way to find the information you are looking for. The site layout and menus make it painless to surf from one page to the next without getting lost in the...

I booked my trip to Ireland 4 months in advance using Expedia. This included a car rental in Dublin with a company called 'Payless'. Because we booked early, we got a good rate. Apparently too good, because when we got to Dublin, we couldn't find a 'Payless' counter anywhere. We spoke with several airport employees who said that there was no company called Payless in the airport. Turns out that it was under a different name (doing business as Dooley Car Rentals). Nowhere on the Expedia printed itinerary was this listed, nor was it in the itinerary you can have e-mailed to you. The U.S. number...

I am someone who uses online travel search engines everyday for personal and professional use. It continually frustrates me that expedia has not updated their website. I think they have a lot to offer, but unfortunately appear to have fallen behind with the times. The best websites out there use grids which make it easier to see what the best price is. Expedia's model requires you to work through tabs and scroll down a long page to try to find the best price. Because they get kick backs from some companies they put them on the first tab that customers come to so sometimes if a customers doesn't... review »
