When my wife Rhonda and I decided we would get married in Hawaii and Honeymoon there as well I search a lot of sites trying to put everything together. I got the best rates from Expedia so that's who we went with.

Setting up the Itinerary

First I looked at the hotels that were available for the first week in June and I had many choices, after comparing amenities and ones with a view we chose The Hawaii Prince Hotel because we could get an ocean view. We could also get a king sized bed and had our choice of floor level as well.

The next thing on our list was what sights we could see and they had a whole long list of sightseeing adventures to choose from. We picked The Arizona Memorial Tour as I had always wanted to go there as I had made a promise to my Dad. Next my wife felt it would be great to see a show about the Hawaiian history and culture and we found a great tour on a large Plantation in the mountains of Oahu.

We attended a luau while we were there and learned of the heritage of the Islands through many different shows we saw there. It was a beautiful place and the dancers and everyone there were so friendly towards everyone. Our day there was a experience to remember. The food was both different and exquisite the tastes and smells were one of a kind. I couldn't quite get my taste buds to enjoy the poi though(I guess it is my redneck upbringing...lol).

Our Wedding was already planned out through an agency in Honolulu and was set for a beach wedding on a remote but public beach just north of Waikiki called Wai Alae Beach Park. BTW It turned out beautifully as we were graced with a Rainbow as we were pronounced Husband and Wife! That is supposed to be good luck for a Rainbow to appear like it did.

After choosing everything we wanted we then looked at all the choices for flights. We were able to fly out of Baltimore (we drove from Kansas) that way we could visit with family before we left and also had a way to and from the airport without having to pay for parking the whole week. There were no non stop flights so we chose a 1 stop flight and were able to get the exact same route back. We had Delta Airlines both ways on a 737 and it was great.

We were able to choose window seats on the way there but had aisle seats on the way back. They then sent us our itinerary by email and we checked to make sure it was all as we wanted. Compared to other sites we looked on and chose similar plans (not everyone had the exact same choices for some reason) But to be comparable in the plans we figured we saved almost $900 total by going through Expedia for our Wedding and Honeymoon.

Bottom Line

Expedia definitely exceeded our expectations as everything went without a single hitch. Our Wedding turned out perfect and the entire Honeymoon was fabulous it is something we will Cherish our entire lives. Someday we want to go back to Hawaii to celebrate an Anniversary and I will be using Expedia to plan the entire time there. They treated us very well and we felt we were given the best we could have gotten! Thank you Expedia for making our Dream come True!!!

I purchased a Vacation package through Expedia. It was the worst mistake I could have made. They quoted me one price, but once I paid and received my confirmation from Expedia I noticed they had charged my credit card hundreds of dollars more than originally quoted. I called EXPEDIA to get it straighted out.

After many phone calls and being put on hold numerous times, I still have not gotten anything resolved. When you call you are calling into their customer support center you are calling to the Philippines. The people answering the phone are unable to provide any help and will not give you the contact information for their location in the United States. You know they are a sham when they cannot give you that information. Nevertheless, I live in the same state as their corporate office and have their address which is below along with the president’s name.

EXPEDIA's U.S. contact information. 3150 139TH AVE SE
BELLEVUE, WA. The president of the company is Dara KHOSROWSHAHI. I advise all to use any other travel company. EXPEDIA is a rip off!!!!! They should be outlawed. Keep posting/blogging/twittering your experience. Keep other from making the same mistake....

The Bard lived in Hawaii for awhile, so he's promised to take me for an extended vacation. We'll definitely have to check out Expedia when it's time to make plans. Excellent review! Congrats on whole experience, including the rainbow!
