In my travels I have found that Expedia usually has the lowest prices by far compared to it's competitors like priceline, cheaptickets, and etc.  Expedia also has more locations for hotels and flights.  I don't know if it's because they have connections with more airlines and hotels, but they almost always have the best deals.   The customer service is also great if there are any issues you need to resolve.  I've saved a thousand dollars on a trip to cancun mexico compared to the other sites I've visited.  If you are going to use Expedia, you should look at some travel magazines first because occasionally they will have coupons that are not published on the internet.
