Denise Austin Pilates for Everybody
When I first say this video on the shelf I was excited to buy it and take it home to begin working out. I wanted to see what all the hype was about with Pilates. The dvd said it was geared towards anyone who had a desire to do Pilates and that it was in fact designed with everyone in mind. So I put the dvd in excited to begin and right from the get go I was lost. The moves were too advanced and too quick, there really wasn't an instructional part of the video. So I did what everyone would do, pause and rewind so that I could work on the moves at my own pace. By the time I got through...

Cindy Whitmarsh, 2007
This dvd has five 10 minutes segments, plus a bonus 5 minute "ab ripper" workout. You can choose individual workouts or play all. But you cant mix & match from the start menu.
She does 2 mini routines in each 10 minute segment and then you take it from the top and do both routines together. They all flow well w/in each 10 min segment.
There are no weights used in this dvd. For that reason its not an advanced workout. I would say it is intermediate. I do think it would be great for travel as it has strength & cardio work, short segments, and no equipment is needed.
Cindy is...
Exercise TV: Slim Down Fast
I did all 3 20 min w/o's this morning. I ABSOLUTELY loved all of them!!! All 3 are cardio/strength intervals. There is a small countdown timer at the top of the screen that counts down the 20 or so minutes for each w/o. My only complaint about the dumbbell w/o's is they only use 1 set of weigths. I really like the old Firm style of light, med, heavy but I figured it out. The dvds do allow you to "play all" but this is play all 3 20 minute segments or play all 5 2 minute segments. Only in the order they are presented-there is no mix & match option.
Cindys is first and if you are a fan of Cindy's...
Denise Austin: Bootcamp
This dvd has two 20 minute workouts: one cardio and one strength, and a 10 minute flexibility workout is also included. Each of the 20 min workouts includes its own w/u & c/d, unlike some of Denises other dvds. I wish they were seperate.
Cardio: Denise leads w/ a variety of background exercisers. It includes a few 30 second "power bursts" to get your heartrate up. I think this is an intermediate w/o but can easily be modified up or down. I really pushed myself and felt I got a great short w/o.
Some of the moves include squats, side steps, ab chops, push ups, torso twists, side shuffle, skaters,...
Core Force
This workout is typical "force" format-a different move for every minute of the exercise. You will need a step, a mat for ab work, and 1 lb hand weights.
Some of the cardio moves focus on your core and you do go up and down a bit from cardio to floor ab work and then back up for more cardio. I knew this going in so it didnt bother me. You can look at in 2 ways: your heartrate stays somewhat up while doing your ab work because you just did a cardio move. OR you can say: you cant maintain a constant HIGH heartrate because you drop to the floor to do core work. I think if you wanted to dedicate some...
Cardio Force
Cardio Force by Annie Mairs, 2008 The format is the same as other Force workouts-each move is done in one minute increments. Anni appears with 4 background exercisers. She does not have a beginner and an advanced modifier like she does in other Force workouts. I didnt find this as tough as Jump Force-maybe because of the jump rope segments, maybe because there is no advanced modifier to follow. I still got an awesome workout but just not as tough as Jump Force.
The set is white and was not distracting at all, the backgound exercisers are dressed in matching outfits w/ Anni's being different. Every...

Cindy Whitmarsh & Barry Jay, 2008
For perspective I am a low advanced exerciser. Cindy Whitmarsh actually leads the workouts. I think she is a good lead-not too overzealous, not too serious. Barry walks around and says things like "great abs arent made in the gym, theyre made in the kitchen so be sure to eat right too" and he pushes down on exercises shoulders for added resistance. He is quirky and I liked him too. They show a beginner and an advanced modifier with Cindy doing intermediate.
The kit comes with 3 dvds. There is a lower body dvd, upper body dvd, and a code red (get fit quick in 6 days)...
Hip Hop Abs
I saw this video on an infomercial and it really caught my attention. Although I do have to admit I did catch the infomercial several times before I decided to purchase the product. When I received my product, I previwed the DVDs to see what all was contained in the DVDs. While watching the DVDs, I thought this is easy stuff and probably wouldn't do what it said it would do. Well, I started in the beginning and thought I was going to die during the first DVD. I do work out but hadn't included a lot of cardio into my workouts so this did kick my butt initially. I was still skeptical...
