We purchased The Picnic At the Vineyard package for my inlaws last year for Christmas. What a joke!!! They made their reservation as directed.  2 days before their trip they received an email reminding them of their reservation at Chadds Ford Winery. They arrived as directed to find the winery had no idea they were coming. Chadds Ford Winery says Excitations never contacted them letting them know they were coming. Excitations says they did and it's Chadds Ford fault. Bottom line is they didn't get the package that was purchased for them and we are getting the run around to make it right. They were to get a tour of the winery/vineyard, a picnic lunch, wine tasting and a bottle of wine to bring home. Since they weren't expecting them, a winery employee ran to a local foodmarket and purchased 2 wraps. That was their picnic lunch with a scoop of macaroni or potato salad. Ridiculous!!!! They did have wine to drink with their wrap and 1 bottle to bring home, they also had a quick tour of the winery. Definitely not worth what we paid for and definitely did not get the package that was described. Excitations has been contacted numerous times in the past 2 months. They do not feel any money should be refunded and they also told us they do not know what they want to do about it. Chadds Ford has offered to send them wine, but Excitations should also be held accountable. We will never again purchase anything from Excitations. One thing we will definitely do is spread the word letting everyone how terrible this company is.

My sister and I purchased one of the car experiences for my father for Christmas. He decided to upgrade the gift to a go karting experience. After setting up a date and recieving a conformation email from the website, my father unaccompanied by  my mother drove upstate early in the morning exciting for the day. When they arrived the vendor had no information from the site about his visit. They were not expecting him, nor had they heard of him. They also had a large even taking place and could not let him use the karts. So after driving all the way upstate in the early morning, they ended up making a Uturn and coming home again disappointed. When he informed me of the situation I was shocked, embarrassed and horrified. If would upsetting enough if he had found it on his own, but this was supposed to be a CHRISTMAS GIFT, and after waiting 4 months to the schuelded date, to turn around and have nothing to show for it.  I was the one who found the website and I am so embarrassed that my mother and father wasted their time with it. Excitation issued a refund for the amount of the gift, but nothing for the embarassment and time wasted.

I received an Excitations gift certificate last Christmas, for an Introduction to Archery, which I finally redeemed last month.  The experience itself was alot of fun and it really opened my eyes to the sport of archery - something I had been interested in learning for a very long time, but didn't know where to begin.  My boyfriend and I are now thinking about joining a league eventually.  Redeeming the gift certificate online was easy - make sure you hold onto the gift card because you'll need the serial number that's printed on the back!  Also, the week before our scheduled lesson, Excitations sent me a detailed email with instructions and directions to the adventure site.  The directions were simple to follow.  Since receiving this gift, I browsed the website myself and purchased interesting and fun gifts for relatives; a half-day horseback ride for two in NJ and the other was a Schooner Sailing excursion in NYC.  I find Excitations to be very broad, thorough and exciting.  Some of the gift packages can be expensive - ranging from $75 to a few thousand dollars but you can be sure you'll find something creative and different that will fit your price range and be worth every penny.  Not everything is an adventure excursion -  they have a selection of cooking lessons, wine tastings, spa & beauty days, etc.  There's even a lising of activities exclusively for children.  I think this is a terrific idea and it really beats giving a friend, spouse or relative a boring tie or blouse for a special occasion!

Finally, I found a website to find gifts for "has everything" people. These people are very difficult to buy gifts since they pretty much have all the things they want. Well,Excitations offer unique gifts of experience for all. Visit their website and you will see different experiences that you may give as gift for your loved ones from activities for relaxing, private yoga, animal encounters, sports, adventure, whitewater rafting, sky diving, hot air balloon ride, helicopter tour, car racing, flying biplanes, etc. Once you found the right experience for your recepient, you'll be given a choice to have the experience gift card be mailed to them or you can email it to them directly or you can print it out and hand it over to them personally. I tend to email and print them since these options are free of charge. This site offers pretty costly gifts but I must say very much worth the price for the once-in-a-lifetime, incredible and unforgettable experience for you and your loved ones.
