Excalibur - Las Vegas, NV Review Summary

Budget conscious travelers enjoyed the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Reviewers liked the fact that the Excalibur was “one of the ‘big name’ hotels” and that it has walkways that connect it to New York, New York and the Tropicana. Some reviewers felt that the Excalibur was a bit “cheesy” (hey, it’s Vegas), that show prices were a little expensive and that it’s also a little bit dated. Not sure hot to get here? My last experience with Excalibur was in 1990, shortly after it opened. The choice of Excalibur was made solely on the basis of price and previous experience. The cold weather and high winds made us appreciate the walkway connections that the Ex. enjoys with the Luxor and Mandalay. The Tram was also... read full review »

If you are looking for a Strip hotel to stay at while in Las Vegas, but are on a budget, this is a great hotel option.  I have often found rooms for $100 and this hotel is close to many other higher end hotels in the middle of the city.  What I love most about the Excalibur is the unique castle shape... read full review »

I found excalibur to be the most exciding place. Even more exciding if your a kid who believes in knights and dragons. The rooms are beautifully done as if you where back in time. The swimming pools are shape so well with little castle around them. The shop have alot of wounderful things to buy that make you want to buy eveything in the shop. The buffet I would have to say is out standing.

The one thing I would recommend is you go see tournament of kings. It is one of the most exciding show I have ever see. The food is good and the action from the show is exciding you'll want to see it again. Alot...

I am local from Las Vegas on the night of August 9 2008 my air conditioned unit broke down so I decide to rent a hotel to spend a night with my family and run away from my hot house.

The kids have fun at the pool; we rent a cabana to follow the Olympics'

Games.

We when back to the room at 8:00 PM after they close the pool take a shower and order a movie at 8:59PM.

Monday we have breakfast at the buffet and them we check out, when we have the final bill after spent a couple hundred on food and drinks them they charge me for a movie that didn't rent $10.99 I told them that I never rent that movie...

My boyfriend and I thought it would be fun to stay at a castle, so we got a hotel at the Excalibur in las Vegas when we got there we checked in and they lady gave us a smoking room when we asked for non-smoking, so we went back and asked for non-smoking.  she gave us one that was right next to some very loud machine that made noises all night long so we couldn't get a decent sleep.  Did I mention the place is kinda confusing so we kept getting lost in our own hotel?  Not the best place to stay

Just spent a week at the Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas.  We had a great time and the pools are amazing.  It's located at a perfect location on the strip, close access to various transportation choices. We upgraded to the recently remodaled rooms which contained an in-room safe. The service was excellent and we were able to use comp's to get a free breakfast and $200 off our room total at the end of our stay.  We will stay here again on our next vegas trip.

My family and I have stayed at Excalibur on a number of occasions since it opened 16 or 17 years ago and have always been satisfied with our overall stay. On this visit however, we found that the hotel is looking tired and were disappointed in the general upkeep and maintenance. The room was comfortable, however, with a large bathroom and a 42' plasma screen TV and the view was good, looking down onto New York New York. The swimming pool was closed for a major upgrade and while that in itself was not a particular annoyance, it was just one more of several items I wished to comment on.... read full review »

The Excalibur Casino & Hotel is located right on the strip, diagonally across the street from the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino . I have stayed at the Excalibur several times in the past few years due to it's very convenient location, low room rates and friendly check-in staff. I've finally realized that it is not necessarily worth it to stay in a five star hotel if I'm merely looking for a place to store my bags, shower, and sleep during the day (yes, in Vegas we sleep in the day and play at night!). I flew into Vegas close to midnight on this particular trip and did not check-in until late.... read full review »

There is a report on file with the hotel security but ...Money was taken from my suitcase and my roommate had her jewelry removed from her suitcase but it was left in the room. When reported to security, little was done. Accosted by a house cleaner who knew excessively much about what had happened in our room as we left after security, we supplemented out report with that information. Once again, security never made us feel like they were interested or going to do anything else about it. I made a complaint to management, but all I got was a room voicemail from the security supervisor, who never... read full review »

The Excalibur was an average hotel. The staff when I was checking in was very friendly and engaging, past that, nothing really stood out, beyond the mediocre and sometimes insufficient customer service. Let's start with security. Most hotels in Vegas have a security guard to assure that only guests enter into the guest rooms area, during my stay, it was more common to see the post unmanned, or if it was manned, to see the guard distracted or inattentive. I also had the unfortunate incident of having left my key in the room one time, housekeeping was cleaning the room directly across from me... read full review »

Check in was fast and pleasant. However when we were walking down the hall to our room there were room service tables left discarded in the hall. Our room was a good size the bed was a king as we had asked for, but the air conditioner did not work and the room smelled of stale beer. ?After staying in that room for five day?s however we have decided to see if we can find air-freshener with that exact same sent, after all our luggage smells like it now.? The first night was a nightmare. People were fighting in the hall at approximately 3am and for the rest of the night you could hear doors... read full review »

This was our second stay at the Excalibur Hotel. The check in/out process was much improved over the last visit. In fact there were four options for check out and at least 2 for check in. We were not happy with our initial room. We complained and were put in a larger, standard size room with a table, 2 chairs, a coffee table and small sofa. The room itself was a little shop worn and could stand new bedding. It was equipped with an iron and ironing board and hair dryer. All these really came in handy. The color tv was rather small, maybe 24". Room service was prompt but, of course, expensive.... read full review »

Well, i have to say that you definitely get what you pay for! Excalibur was definitely the most reasonable priced place to stay on the strip. The room was very out-dated and old looking! Everything was properly working, but it's an old Casino and it shows! As for the cleaniness of the room...the room was clean, the bath room was very clean and you could tell it had been updated. However, the bath towels were very small & thin and the bath soap did not smell GOOD at ALL! The staff was pretty helpful. No complaints there. Excalibur has the best gambling in the area! You can play $5... read full review »

The Excalibur had the most reasonable price for the weekend, but the property is in need of some upgrades. The casino itself reeked of smoke, unlike others on the strip attesting to the fact that the Excalibur has an old ventilation system. The air conditioner was the type that sits beneath the window and is very loud with settings of low or high with no thermostat. Our option was to chill the room like a fridge during the day so we could sleep with it off at night. Beware. Also, if you want to use the pool etc, make sure you are in tower 2 unless you want to traverse all the way down to the... read full review »
