I was gifted this product 3 years back and I still own it but I use it very rarely. The main thing I was hesitant to use the product is the fact that it does not have a timer but except that, this product works great. The features I love about this product that it is less noisy while working and I do not feel the heat even when I am near the product. It works well in dehydrating fruits whether apples or bananas and even meat and fish. The food does not harden at all and it helps to dehydrate it very fast. However, I needed to be very careful while taking off the meat or beef chunks as they were too hot after being dehydrated. It was necessary to keep them at least for 5-10 minutes and then eat the food. It is energy efficient as well and in spite of using the product regularly, I dint have to pay heavy electricity bills and it was round about the earlier price I used to pay.

This is an amazing dehydrator. I originally purchased this excalibur dehydrator because we were beginning a healthier diet and ridding ourselves of all the additives and preservatives of most store bought foods. I wanted to make dried fruit, mainly. The dried fruit turned out so amazing that I started making homemade fruit rollups for my kids. They absolutely loved them. Then I started using the excalibur dehydrator for other things such as drying flowers for projects and drying herbs to use in homemade bath and body products as well as seasonings for food. This dehydrator would also be great for making homemade jerkies. I have not tried drying any meat in mine because we do not eat meat. I have had no issues whatsoever with this dehydrator. While it does cost a bit more than other models that I have looked at, it is worth the money in my opinion. I have owned mine for over a year with no issues and I use it on a regular basis. I would recommend this dehydrator to anyone who might be interested in venturing out into the world of dried foods.
