A College That Goes The Extra Mile

5

I have talked to quite a few colleges, I have even gone to the colleges to do a walk through. A few of the colleges have been very nice, willing to help in any way they can, until they find out that the financial aid you applied for isn't going to cover your schooling fees, let alone book costs. They shove some papers at you and say " Well you can go to these websites and apply for scholarships, let me know when you can start classes." Now lets talk about the college I talked to this week, it's Everest Online, they were very nice, very helpful, and they didn't back away from my financial issues (laid off, collecting unemployment, ready to go back to school). They said "No problem, we have some alternatives for you." Big sigh of relief for me, I'm not out of the game yet. They are being very creative and they are all working to get me where I want to be. PLUS and this is huge, they give every student a laptop to take their online classes and after they graduate, the students get to keep the laptop, plus all books are included in the intuition, plus the intuition is the same as the college I was going to go with that didn't supply the books. I have received at least 4 phone calls from student support reps and financial aid personnel making sure that I'm being taken care of. I cannot believe how nice every one of them have been. I hope everything works out so I can go to school there. As a back up plan I continue to apply for scholarships, it's not a bad thing to have to apply for them, it matters that I have a group of people helping and rooting for me to reach my goals. If I have to rely on scholarships to pay my tuition fees, so be it, but I will be going to school with Everest Online and nowhere else. Teaching Quality The 2 teachers that I talked to were very nice and answered all my questions and offered their help on anything that I needed. Financial Aid Superb financial aid reps. Accreditation This is also very good.

Worst School Ever

1

I cant rate this school a zero so i had to rate it a 1... this is the worst school ever if you are thinking about going here please think again. when i started at this school i thought it was great they gave you a lap top so that you can stay connected and everyone that you talked to was so excited to have you start the course. when the classes finally started i hated it. the insructors do nothing they dont return you emails for weeks and the studet advisors and financial aid department are terrible. i call in around 10 am est and i get a recording that im calling after business hours and call back between 9 am est and 10pm est. ok so im calling during business hours but you all are closed. then when i do get someone on the phone they flat out told me that they did not know anything about the financial aid because it is 6 am where they are.. wow what customer service, then i get an email that tells me tuition is going up 2x the amount next term the classes where already over priced now you are going up on the cost no..!! i decided to only go for on semester and i withdrew to go to another school that i felt would be better than this one and now they are holding up my financial aid and are telling me that they will not let them go for 30 days.. they have already told me that i have no balance and i dont owe anything but now they are holding up my funds so that they can make sure that i dont owe anything... they are really getting on my nerves. when i call and talk to someone today i asked to speak with her supervisor and she says whatevery and transfers the call very unprofessional. if i could i would walk in and give a piece of my mind please dont go to this school you will be very dissappointed. big mistake...!!!

I have just started to attend Everest South Orlando University Online. Everyone is so caring, and every few days i receive a phone to make sure I am doing okay && fine in my classes. People say they hate this school, i do not understand why. It is not their job to provide you with a job, and your not in school just for the money. This is an Educational Process to better yourself. No one ever said college would be easy. But Everest seems to be a great school, and the work is not hard. I love it ! I will be receiving my laptop today, which is free. This is really a nice school.

I absolutely hate this school. I have been going for almost 3 years and every single time I call to get information or speak to someone about my financial aid I am told something different. They can not get your refund checks out for four or five months after they request the money. I am so sick of it. I would recommend everyone to go to a different school. I have had 7 different student advisors and they never call or email. They don't allow me to pick my own classes. Its all around terrible!!

My name is Tonja and I just finished my first semester at Everest Online. The instructors are there to help you every step of the way. If you don't have the discipline to do online classes..as many do not..you can't hang!! Everest Rocks! Im in my late 30's and was afraid to take online classes but the textbooks, online tutors, resourses, and overall material you are given truly gives you EVERYTHING you need to get thru your work. My instructors were always available to answer me via email and my advisor is an email or a phone call away. I can't wait to start my second semester!!!

Hi, my name is Misty.  I am from a very small community in Arkansas.  I was terminated from my place of employment after three years due to down sizing.  I then decided to further my education and devote more time to my three year old son.  I love that I have the opportunity to stay home and take care of my child while taking on-line classes.  The classes are so convenient.  You can access them twenty four hours a day and seven days a week.  I also like the fact that our classes are divided up in to teams.  Each class has a main discussion, individual homework assignment, team assignment, and quiz.  Some classes are one week long and others are two weeks long.  The teacher assigns a specific discussion topic and every student is to post their response, which is the main post, and then they are to respond to at least two or three other student's main posts.  It is very interesting to me to read how people respond to different topics all over the United States.
