Most HelpfulI just had my first baby in March of 2008 and to be honest with you in all the "baby registry frenzy" I did not register for a convertible car seat thinking that I had a few months to wait. Boy was I wrong. I gave birth to a healthy and BIG baby who outgrew his infant carrier in 5 months. So what did I do? Sat at my laptop and researched, spoke to other moms, checked out reviews of all the seats out there - and let me tell you there are lots. All the "big box baby stores" were steering me towards this one expensive brand - now granted I will NOT take safety lightly and am willing to...
review »We purchased the Evenflo Triumph Advance Deluxe Convertible Car Seat for my son when he was about 9 months old and still rear facing. The retail price on it is $159.99 at Babies R Us. Right away I loved the color of this car seat (sandbox)-nice light color for people who have to worry about living in the heat and don't want a dark fabric. My son sat comfortably in it (rear facing at the time) and it is very easy to use. When you are used to using an infant seat with the carseat base, the convertible carseats can become a pain to install in and out of vehicles. While it is still easy enough we...
review »When I heard my friends raving about this seat, I just knew that I had to get one too. I love how my son can continue to ride rear-facing until he actually hits 30lbs, which we all know is so much safer than just switching to forward facing at one year. Since this car seat has some of the highest shoulder slots on the market for convertible seats, it is estimated to last until my child is FIVE OR SIX YEARS OLD at which point he can go directly into a booster. You just can't beat that for the price.
My nine month old son absolutely loves this seat. The recline is just high enough for him to not...
review »We've had this seat since 2005. Registered for it when I was pregnant b/c of the glowing Consumer Reports Reviews. We have this in my husband's car where it pretty much gets weekend use, as I have her in my car in a Britax Marathon during the week.
I'm sure it is a very safe seat. It crash tested very well in CR's reports at the time we bought it. BUT, I have always found it frustrating to deal with adjusting the straps. Mind you, my husband likes it just fine. But I have issues with weak, stiff hands and fingers and sometimes I have a heck of a time holding the lever down while turning...
review »My daughter loves her carseat. We first got the Triumph DLX when she turned 1 and she loves to use her car seat. She will even crawl into it when we have it just sitting in the living room. We travel a lot and this seat has soft, cushioned fabric and can recline without having to unbuckle your child. (It does take some maneuvering, though!)
It is very easy to adjust the straps as your child grows and to tighten/loosen them after they are buckled in.
I did find it a pain to have to take out a lot of screws just so I could get the cover off to wash it. It became quite a project.
I do like that it...
review »I am a first time mother of twins trying to get by as best as we can. But when it comes to a carseat, I took my time to find the right fit for our family and our car. We have a Toyota Highlander and a Jeep Grand Cherokee and the car seats work in both of those cars. Being that both my husband and I work and share driving responsiblity, we needed to purchase 4 car seats, so value was of the utmost importance. Our twins were about 6 months old when they were big enough to move from the infant carrier to the convertable seats. They were a little small when we first started using them,...
review »My daughter bought this seat for my granddaughter who is just a year old.
Recently they were in an accident; they were run off the road into a ditch. The car was shaken so much it literally fell apart. The drive shaft even broke y'all. My granddaughter was safe in this seat though. The doctor's at the ER checked her out; her own doctor checked her out and this seat kept my granddaughter safe. She thought it was all a game and was laughing when they finally stopped.
Maybe any car seat would do this, but the Evenflo is the one she was in.
The seat wasn't real expensive and it's easy to install...
