I did a LOT of research about convertible car seats, and HOURS of comparison shopping before settling on the Evenflo Triumph Advanced DLX, because it was recommended on our local news show as a reliable seat without breaking the bank. It is an absolutely fabulous seat--middle of the road in terms of pricing, but it is so well-reviewed, user-friendly, and comfy for our toddler on long trips, I really can't see the need for anyone ever to spend more money on a car seat. When it was time to get a second seat for daddy's car, we went straight to looking at Evenflo, for all the same reasons. I never figured out how to attach the cup holder on the Triumph, but the ease of removing the cover to machine-wash it more than makes up for that feature.
