Parents say the Evenflo position and Lock Gate is one of the lightest and “cheapest baby gates on the shelf”. The Evenflo Gate is good for small toddlers, climbers and even dogs. One reviewer says it is very sturdy and doesn’t fall easily. “It stands up to 2 labs, a great dane and a hyper mutt!” The downside, however, is that while it is expandable, the Evenflo Position & Lock Gate may not “fit your door opening” and “may lift the paint”. Some reviewers specifically say it doesn’t fit their small doorways. If you are looking for a basic, expandable and sturdy baby gates this is a good option. If you want a baby gate with more safety features and bells and whistles, look at your other options.

This Evenflo Gate is great for young babies, who either can't climb, or won't climb [either being afraid or other] and for small pets.
It is rather easy for a child to climb over. It doesn't fit all doorways. Some of my doors are rather small and it doesn't fit.
But it does stay once you get it up. It doesn't fall easily even if shaken or pushed against. It is even a little bit hard for an adult to open sometimes. And It was the cheapest on the shelf.

Okay I am one who believes in giving every company the benefit of the doubt. The Evenflo Position & Lock gate violates every principle however of intelligent design. My wife bought this and admittedly this is a low end line for Evenflo. However after repeated efforts, I could not get the gate to properly install in a 36" entryway between two rooms.
I am not sure why a good company like Evenflo would even sell a gate like this? To compete with foriegn offerings perhaps. At any rate, the design simply does not work and we had to resort to using packing tape to lock the gate at a particular size...

I have tried many different baby gates to keep my dogs out of rooms they cant go in. This is the only one who stands up to 2 labs, a great dane and a hyper mutt!!! It is sturdy enough that even the four of them together cant knock it down. It is easily put up and moved around if need be. I would definately get another one of these over any other brand.
