I have hade to travel many times over the years since the first of my three kids was born 7 years ago. When traveling I never know exactly how things are going to be where we are at, and how safe things will be for my kids. I love this gate because it fits easily into both car trunks and the space behind the last seat in my mini-van, allowing me to take it everywhere. I have used this gate at friends and relatives homes, in hotels, many different places of worship. I do warn that this gate should not be used at the top of stairs, only an installable gate should be used there. For all other places I find this to be better then a second set of eyes.
