This is something we got as a gift. If I had paid for it I wouldn't be happy. I guess if I wasn't on a tight budget it might be worth it. Lots of people I know said their kids just loved this. But my kids have never really gotten how to use it. I tried it at different ages and tried lowering it or heightening it but they just couldn't figure out how to hop and jump. I will say that it is very sturdy and has always been safe. I've never really had to worry about my kids getting hurt while using it.

One of the Best Toys I Ever Bought

5

I bought this toy for my 2-year-old daughter when she was just 5 months olds because she had already started sitting up, crawling, standing, and trying to walk. Since she was trying to walk I thought it would be a good idea to get this Johnny Jump Up for her, so she could find out what her legs could do. I put it together really fast compare to normal on things that aren't electric gadgets. She never did jump in it. She ran in circles in the doorway laughing even in her sleep. Now we use it for my 7 month old and he jumps in it even in his sleep. He is also starting to run in circles with it as well. lol.

The Jenny Jump Up will have you JUMPING for joy!

4

I received a Jenny Jump Up as a gift for one of m children, when she was 6 months old. At first I was hesitant to use it, as I couldn't fathom that it was safe. Obviously, safety is my primary concern and I refused to put my child in it until I researched it first. It turns out that it's not only safe, it's addictive. My daughter would spend hours in there, jumping like a kangaroo. You wouldn't believe the smiles and giggles that came out of her. She didn't want toys or walkers. She wanted to the Jenny Jump Up. She ended up using it until she eventually outgrew it (and still tried squeezing herself in). I suppose she got a kick out of the fact that she was getting a lot of movement for very little work. All she had to do was push off with her feet, and away she went. Needless to say, her legs got quite a workout. As an added bonus, I was able to get housework done without having to tote her around. I'd sit near her and fold laundry while she bounced around. I give the Jenny Jump Up 4 out of 5 stars. The only thing i'd like to see added, are some toys or teethers. There are loops on there where you can add your own, but it's always nice to have a little something extra.

Not all babies will love the Johnny Jump-Up.

OK, I wanted to like the Johnny Jump-Up.  It looks like a great idea, and I'd heard of lots of babies who liked theirs, and my mom said I liked mine when I was young.  But my daughter didn't like it, and I'm not a big fan either.  On the plus side, the Johnny Jump-Up is sturdy, and the design is sound and safe.  It comes in a small box, but it's easy to put together if you follow the instructions carefully.  However, the seating area is way too big!  I had to stuff a bunch of blankets in it to get my daughter comfortable in it instead of just wobbling around. "Well," you might say, "maybe your daughter was just too small for it when you used it!" Ah yes, except that my daughter started walking at about 11 months.  At this point, she was still too small for the Johnny Jump-Up, and what toddler is going to be content to bounce up and down in a confined space when there's *exploring* to do?  Not mine, anyway.  So, yes, she would probably fit in it *now*, at 19 months, but there's no way she would be happy with it.  She has too much to do! When I did manage to get her properly padded in it when she was younger, she would jump happily for a very short amount of time, and then she would be so exhausted and wound up that she would freak out.  Definitely not worth the 5 minutes' peace I got from it.

Great toy to keep babies entertained

I loved this jumper for my children.  We have 3 kids and they all have enjoyed this.  There is a stage when babies start moving around, but can't crawl yet, can't sit up unsupported and they need things to do.  And I can't carry my 16 pounded around in the baby sling all day.  We are currently working on fixing up an old house.  While I'm washing wallpaper glue off the walls I just put the jumper in the door frame of the room I am working in.  My son is going through the seperation anxiety stage, so keeping him in the same room as me is a MUST.  I put him in a he just loves being upright and able to look around.  Soon he will figure out that if he pushes on the ground he will bounce.  It is a little hard to get him in the seat part, but that doesn't keep us from using it.  We are using it for our 3rd child and it still looks brand new. Holds up well.  It did to a little damage (rubbing) to the wood door frame, but should be able to fix it with paint.

Loves It!

Our first granddaughter got this as a gift and she loved! We just put her in there and she'd start giggling, even when very small (5 months). It worked in any doorframe in my son's house and was very secure and sturdy. My granddaughter is a chunk and we never had any worries about it falling or dropping her, etc. This was a very entertaining toy for her that was inexpensive, didn't take up a lot of storage space and didn't need a lot of whizbang gadgets to make her happy. She loved jumping and this toy made her very happy. The colors were very cute and the cover was easily removable and washable. It was easy to get her in and out. She loved being able to spin around and watch her mommy go between the kitchen and office. She loved to bounce. She loved being swung back and forth in it by daddy. She enjoyed this much more than her exosaucer. It was a useful way to have the baby nearby and happy while mommy was working on the computer. Overall, I think this was one of the best "toys" people bought my granddaugther when she was younger than 8 months old.

So my mom and dad said as kids my brother and myself had the Johnny Jump Up...My child  has the Evenflow Excersaucer...which she absoultely loves, but its not the thing you want to carry with you all the time, however I do. So we got her the Jenny Jump Up...I can normally put anything together without having to read directions, however this was not the case, maybe I was having a bad day..I didn't catch on that the pipes went through the loops on the end of the straps, my dads girlfriend put it together in just a few moments...so if your pretty savy assembly time is 5 mins...My daughter does enjoy this toy, just not for a long time, but she is a very active 7 month old, sits, stands and crawls on her own since about 5 months, so she is just craving more action than jumping up and down. Great buy for the price and what you get. I would suggest this for any mom who wants to have a few minutes to do something and to help the baby learn what their legs can do.

This is a must have for busy moms with active infants.

This is an amazing product.  The Evenflo Johnny Jump Up is great for parents who spend a lot of time in one room (ie. kitchen/ family room).  Simply hang in the doorway and let infant entertain him/herself with bouncing.  You can attach toys to the jump up which is great.  I frequently used this when I was working in the kitchen.  It kept my children happily entertained and I was right there able to converse with them but not having to worry about tripping over them or spilling hot liquids/foods on them.   Of all the baby products I have tried (and with four kids I have tried a lot of them), the Johnny Jump Up is the product my children liked best from about 4 months to 10 months (until they started crawling).  If you have a child who is very content to sit and observe, and not so exploratory you may even be able to keep your child happily entertained past the ten month age.  One word of caution if you have other preschoolers you may need to keep a careful eye on them to make sure they are not using it as a swing while baby is in it. Durability So far I have used this for four of my five children. Ease of Use Just put over a door frame and it's ready to go. Features Even a place to attach some toys so your child can play.

Johnny Jump Up Can Definitely Come in Handy!

4

I have my first 3-6 month old son. I'm learning that this can be a frustrating age for my little guy! He doesn't want to lay down much, he wants to be "in on the action," but because he doesn't bear much weight on his legs--there aren't a whole lot of options other than being held. I've tried the Bumbo (which I love), he has a bouncy seat, and also a Boppy. These are great items, but I'm always looking for things that will vary his day and his perspective a bit. I received the Johnny Jump Up as a gift and was a bit hesitant at first as to how well it would work. I use it now once a day and it's perfect for when I'm getting ready in the morning. I would not use it for more than 10 minute intervals, because it wears the child out. Each day I see progress in his strength to straighten his spine and keep his head up. He smiles when I put him in it.  You do need a door frame in which to hang the unit. Make SURE it is properly adjusted to your child's height or you could be causing more harm than good. If color is a big deal, they also offer the Jenny Jump Up which is the same product--except it is marketed for little girls. I recommend this product. It's not a 'must have' but it can come in handy when mom or dad just needs to get one small task done. Your child can watch you and even turn when you walk behind the unit. I love the new perspectives my son is getting!
