Alot of my friends have been saying "Oh, Steve Carell is the same guy in every movie, blah blah blah." I personally don't believe that, but even if it were true, it works for him. It works extremely well. This movie is as good as it can be for the movie that it is. Does that make sense?
Plot: God asks Congressman Evan Baxter to build an ark in preparation for a great flood.
Saying that it's as good as it could be for the kind of movie that it is means for a somewhat biblical movie, it really exceeded my expectations. This is a wonderful family movie. If I had kids, I'd most definitely take them to see it. It's informative and teaches some great lessons. Not only that, but it's hilarious. The cast and acting were good and the directing was done very well. Steve Carell is what really makes this movie though. No one could replace him and have the movie be as funny as it was. A well rounded, hilarious family movie.
One last thing, I'm a little upset that people are bashing this movie as much as they are. This is meant to be a family movie. I know some people thought that if it was cruder it would be better or funnier, but it is what it is, a good family movie.
MPAA: PG (for mild rude humor and some peril)
