The best feature is the steam, just like at the dry cleaners, at the push of a button. You can iron and push it when you get to a pesky spot, push it constantly (like I do) when you just want to iron in a hurry, or steam delicate garments while hanging. It also has a button to spray water on a spot (eliminating the water pistol), but I rarely use that one.
Pouring water in the damn iron is always a mess. Especially if you choose to do it OVER the garment your trying to iron on the board. This iron is ingenious in that a) it made it so you pour it in while the iron is lying flat, rather than on the top of the iron and b) it comes with a nifty little pointed cup to do so. It also has a clear part so you can see how much water your adding.
This iron has electronic fabric settings, you just push the button to select what you will be ironing. It shuts off after it has been idle for a while. This is nice if you forget, but can be a pain if you are sewing or something and have to iron periodically. You have to turn it back on and wait for it to heat up each time. It heats rather quickly, though.
It also just feels and looks quality (if that means anything). It feels very substantial, but not heavy. It's made out of metal, not plastic. It's a far cry from the plastic $10 iron.
