Eureka Vacuum - Optima - Lightweight Bagless Upright Vacuum - 431A Reviews

I have never ever owned a vacuum that doesn't perform at all.  You must empty it with each room you vacuum.  The entire filter must be brushed out with something like a small toothbrush.  So there you are having to stop what you're doing to empty the plastic container with dust & bacteria escaping all over the place and no way to properly clean the filter.  Unfortunately I didn't return it within the  30 days so I'm stuck with this piece of junk.  No more Eurekas for me.  I had a more expensive one prior to this one and also had tons of problems with it for the first 3 yrs.  The Eureka 431A Optima Vacuum is an amazing cleaning machine and has the Good Housekeeping Seal Of Approval.  I definitely agree with them. I bought one over a year ago for my kids to use upstairs in our huge brand new house which the upstairs is all carpet with the exception of the bathroom and I was amazed how my 9 yr old could make the carpet look so good. I often carried it downstairs to give the carpet a better cleaning than my cheap Kenmore vacuum cleaner.  I felt it did a deep clean and I could actually see the carpet had been vacuumed.  I have a dog with long fuzzy hair like a cat...

Happened to over hear another customer telling a friend about this vaccum. So inexpensive I bought it thinking I didn't have much to lose. Wow! I'd buy it again, recommend it, give as a gift - it is a great little vaccuum and very powerful. The only down side is that you must keep the filter clean (I clean after every other use) but it is really well designed and easy to clean the filter. I don't see that as a down side at all. Great product.

I recieved this vacuum from my grandmother and when I looked at it I thought there was no way it could do what I needed. I have 2 cats and 1 dog and there are three adults living in the house. Also we have frequent visitors and a large house. We have hard wood floors, carpet, berber carpet and linoleum. I did not believe this could clean my house. I was wrong. I abosolutly love this vacuum. It says it is as powerful as a full upright and it is. The suction on this is the best I have ever had. It gets up everything even stuff my other vacuums left behind. It also works on the hard floors as well....

I was skeptical at first about this vacuum(Eureka Optima) - because it was so small and lightweight.  I fully expected to return this product after I tried it out.

To my surprise - it worked great and it is a pleasure to use because it is not heavy to push or carry around.
