Eureka's TheBoss SmartVac is well built, very effective, and a great value. Bags are affordable as well. It's noisy but not too noisy. The handle release step button is quite stiff to operate. Floor height selector knob is helpful.  Vacuum may be too large to work well on stairs. I have owned it for nearly one year.
