Opinion is split on The Eureka Boss SmartVac, as some feel it "sucks in a good way," while others find that the vacuum is "nothing but problems." Those that appreciate the vacuum had struggled with other brands such as Hoover and Bissell, but felt this Eureka model did the job. Some have even tried the very expensive models, only to give them away, as they find the Boss SmartVac "picks up up everything and even more that has been stuck in your carpet over time." Even those that clean houses for a living prefer this bagless vacuum over others because of its adjustability and the telescopic duster. Reviewers that aren't too keen on the Smart Vac found that it didn't last long, with the Turbo Nozzle being the first thing to go. They all agree the SmartVac picks up pet hair really well, but it doesn't do any good, as "the hose clogs very easily," and because it's bagless, they find they find themselves emptying the dirt cup too often.

Most HelpfulAfter years of tring to find a good vacuum, I found one in this Eureka "The Boss" SmartVac for Pet Lovers.
I have gone thru both a Hoover (fell apart within one year) and a Bissell that fell apart alot and I had to constantly patch together during use. But money is tight and I held onto it for years....

Most HelpfulThe Eureka Boss vacuum has been nothing but problems for me. I purchased this vacuum to replace another vacuum. It worked great for about the first month. It picked up all the cat litter and cat hair in my house. The first thing to go was the Turbo nozzle. It broke and would not pick up any hair off...
read full review »This vacuum is consistently rated by consumer reports, good housekeeping, and independent tests as having top rated cleaning power even compared to vacuums costing more than twice as much. Some say it is even better than other top of the line vacuums such as Dyson. There are a lot of controls for cleaning all different types of things all handily accessible on the vacuum itself. There is a mode for hardwoods (brushless), high and low-pile carpets, stairs, curtains, and hard to reach corners, are all easily handled with everything that comes with this vacuum. The hand-held attachments for...
read full review »I would recommend this vacuum to anyone. I bought this bagless when my old vacuum died. The salesperson said it was a great vacuum for pet owners - and he was right. I have two dogs and lots of people in my house all the time and use this vacuum just about everyday. I also clean other people's houses for an extra job and never go anywhere without this vacuum. It works like no other vacuum I've used. It has a feature that you can adjust the suction and it has a telescopic duster that you can suck the dust into the canister by pressing a button. The duster could be a little better - but I like the...
read full review »I got my Eureka Smart Vac second hand and I am very happy with it. I like that is has a hose. I don't understand why all vacuums don't. On mine I do sometimes have problems with the wrong end of the hose pulling out. It doesn't seem to lock in very well and my kids sometimes will pull on it too hard and it just pops out. It's not that big of a deal, you just put it back in. It's more annoying than anything else. I don't know if it's a common problem, or just something that is wrong with mine. The bag isn't the easies to change. Mainly because the part of the hose that goes right into the bag...
