Created4HisGlory says "Works well, like the hepa feature." about Eureka Boss - SmartVac

I got my Eureka Smart Vac second hand and I am very happy with it. I like that is has a hose. I don't understand why all vacuums don't. On mine I do sometimes have problems with the wrong end of the hose pulling out. It doesn't seem to lock in very well and my kids sometimes will pull on it too hard and it just pops out. It's not that big of a deal, you just put it back in. It's more annoying than anything else. I don't know if it's a common problem, or just something that is wrong with mine. The bag isn't the easies to change. Mainly because the part of the hose that goes right into the bag is where it pulls out easily. So while you're sitting there trying to get the bag in you can accidentaly push the hose out. It does have good suction though. It has different height settings for different types of carpet. The hepa filter is something I like too. It's a little on the large side. Even though it's a large vacuum it still manuvers easily. I'm happy with it.
...

killem1920 says "Good Housekeeping Award for Best Vacuum" about Eureka Boss - SmartVac

This vacuum is consistently rated by consumer reports, good housekeeping, and independent tests as having top rated cleaning power even compared to vacuums costing more than twice as much. Some say it is even better than other top of the line vacuums such as Dyson. There are a lot of controls for cleaning all different types of things all handily accessible on the vacuum itself. There is a mode for hardwoods (brushless), high and low-pile carpets, stairs, curtains, and hard to reach corners, are all easily handled with everything that comes with this vacuum. The hand-held attachments for the hose even include a rotating brush to help pick-up pet hair or human hair in bathrooms. It does use bags, but that is a minor inconvenience to getting one of the best vacuums available for under $200. Makes this vacuum the only choice when it comes to value-minded consumers. You could pay more, but why?
...

tobypld says "This Machine SUCKS in a Good Way" about Eureka Boss - SmartVac

After years of tring to find a good vacuum, I found one in this Eureka "The Boss" SmartVac for Pet Lovers.

I have gone thru both a Hoover (fell apart within one year) and a Bissell that fell apart alot and I had to constantly patch together during use. But money is tight and I held onto it for years. Meanwhile my 2 dogs and 1 cat filled my house with fur. The floor edges were constanty black with built up fur. Once in a blue moon my dogs would urinate on the floor, which I treated with salt. I poured the salt on the wet spot and allowed to dry before I vacuumed it up. Last time I did this was well over a few years ago and the spot had been vacuumed many times since.

First time I turned on the Eureka "The Boss" SmartVac for Pet Lovers, I could feel the power. The bagged filled after one trip over the whole house and imagine my suprise when I heard the salt being sucked up on that old spot!

But I love it more for its excellant pick up on a vinyl floor. ( I hate sweeping). It...
...

scottshell4 says "It is nothing but problems." about Eureka Boss - SmartVac

The Eureka Boss vacuum has been nothing but problems for me. I purchased this vacuum to replace another vacuum. It worked great for about the first month. It picked up all the cat litter and cat hair in my house. The first thing to go was the Turbo nozzle. It broke and would not pick up any hair off the bed. I called the company and they sent me out a new one within a week. Then the hose assembly ripped. I only stretched it a little ways and I could hear air leaking out of it. The company replaced it within a week. I have had it for 5 months and the bottom is shot. You can not push it forward when it is turned off. When it is on it will still vacuum but, the wheels are squeaking and it won't move that well. I took it into the service center and they have no idea why this happened. Just the other day, the hose assemby ripped on me again. Now I am waiting for another replacement. It is not picking up the cat litter as well anymore. It is still doing pretty good on picking up the cat hair. ...
...

Laurie56672 says "Too much time spent unclogging hose" about Eureka Boss - SmartVac

I purchased this vacuum because we have 2 dogs and a cat and lots of pet hair. The vacuum is great for picking up the hair, but the hose clogs very easily where the hose goes into the vacuum. It seems that I spend more time unclogging than I do vacuuming. To unclog you have to remove screws which is a pain. Hair should not clog a vacuum so easily. I would recommend this vacuum to people who do not have a lot of animal hair, but I would not buy this cleaner again....

The thing I hate most about this vacuum is that the bagless feature, which should be handy is actually a pain if you have any amount of work to do. I have 2 dogs, a cat and four people living in my house, of which the livingroom, hallway and bedrooms are carpeted. ( I have hardwoods in the entry, diningroom, kitchen and familyroom). I have trouble with dog hair getting balled up in the hose to the cup, and find myself having to empty the dirt cup frequently. I will go back to a bagged cleaner soon. I have owned this cleaner for several months, and it barely works now....

I have owned many sweepers from cheap to very expensive and this is the best one I have ever owned. I'm giving my daughter my very expensive one. This is great for people who have animals that shed alot like I do. It picks up everything and even more that has been stuck in your carpet over time. Don't go buy the really expensive vacuum for pet hair and get this one. You won't be sorry....

squaggles says "A heavy-duty vacuum to get the job done!" about Eureka Boss - SmartVac

I would recommend this vacuum to anyone. I bought this bagless when my old vacuum died. The salesperson said it was a great vacuum for pet owners - and he was right. I have two dogs and lots of people in my house all the time and use this vacuum just about everyday. I also clean other people's houses for an extra job and never go anywhere without this vacuum. It works like no other vacuum I've used. It has a feature that you can adjust the suction and it has a telescopic duster that you can suck the dust into the canister by pressing a button. The duster could be a little better - but I like the feature of being able to keep the dust on the duster in the canister instead of in the air. The canister could be a little bigger, because the pet hair fills it up very quickly. And it could be a little lighter - but I am more than willing to sacrifice the weight of the product for the quality. I have used this vacuum almost everyday and many times for hours at a time (cleaning jobs) and have owned...
...
