The Eureka Altima Vacuum is very light weight so I can carry it up and down the stairs. Speaking of stairs, the power paw does a wonderful job cleaning them. Its fast and easy. It's also good to vacuum dust off and out of the furniture and if you have drapes it's very useful to clean those as well.
We have both tile and carpet, this vacuum does a fairly good job on the tile and really good on the carpet. If you have cats that shed, it's very good for that.
The attachments are handy and easy to use. All compact on the unit so as not to be lost.
The straight edge attachment does a great job of cleaning base boards and under appliances and cupboards. The vacuum has quite a bit of hose for reaching high places as well.
If you have ceiling fans the telescopic wand is wonderful for that as well as dusting plant shelves, window sills or cobwebs. Makes quick work of jobs I'd rather not do.
It has the Hepa Filter that helps keep the dust down. The filter does have to be changed from time to time but they aren't very expensive if you get them at Wal-mart or someplace like that.
I like the fact it is bagless, so I don't have to buy bags every time they are filled. All you have to do is dump it out. We have an air compressor that we use to blow it out real well once in a while. It saves on the wear and tear.
We bought the Eureka Altima vacuum about two years ago, for around $76.00 or so, and it's been a great machine for the money. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a vacuum that doesn't cost hundreds of dollars! It does everything I need to keep a clean, neat and tidy home. Plus, if one of the kids break a part or runs over something that's not supposed to go into the machine, I can go buy another one and not be out a ton of money!
