When I bought this vacuum I thought it looked cool and loved that it has a self cleaning duster and it would clean like a dream. Boy was I wrong. It was always blowing out dust (I checked for clogs and that wasn't the case), the screws that held the cover above the wheels would always vibrate out. The self cleaning duster didn't self clean. It did a poor job sucking up pet hair and any little items that could be vacuumed up. Towards the end it wasn't dust blowing out, it was smoke and that was just having it on for less then a min. This vacuum is a total waste of money.  It broke down after the first use.  I was very careful with my new vacuum.  I made sure the floor was free of any objects other than the usual pet hair.  After using the vacuum on one large oriental rug (no fringe), and the surrounding hard wood floor, the machine stopped working.  The brush stopped turning, so I assume the belt broke and it wouldn't suck up anything but my time.  I never even got to try the "power paw", or the self cleaning duster.  It was overheating as well, and I noticed that when pulling out the… read full review »

My previous vaccuum was the Dirt Devil bagless.  I hated that thing - the filter was always dirty and cleaning the cup was messy!  This vaccuum is a breeze in cleaning the cup and all other attachment.  I have 2 dogs and a cat and there is hair everywhere!  Cleaning my living room (19x12) took 3 full cups of junk from my floors in just a few days!  I was amazed!  The ease of use of this vaccuum is excellent.  It is self propelling and it doesn't suck up your throw rugs either!  I would highly reccomend this to anyone needing a good suction vaccuum at a… read full review »

For the first 6 months we used our Eureka 2996AVZ Bagless Upright Vacuum, it worked just fine. The next six months gave us some trouble, so I thought it was because we hadn't replaced the filters. The filters have since been replaced and we have had it a little over a year. Now, every time I use it, something else falls off! There is a piece at the bottom that falls off every single time, and I have to maneuver the vacuum carefully to get it to stay. I have not used this particular Eureka personally.  I have however used 3 different Eureka's with the spinbrush, bagless.  My mom also bought one just like it.  Neither of mine lasted over 2 years.  I only vacuum once a week, usually, occasionally more but more often even less!  My mom vacuums once a week or less also.  Hers lasted about 19 months.  We have not run over anything with them, used them under harsh conditions, loaned them out or anything.  I will never buy another Eureka vacuum because of this.  If you are looking for quality, this… read full review »

I just recently bought this vacuum on the advice of my daughter. Yes, it does pick up pet hair very well, but for bare floors its horrible. Throws sand and dirt back at you from underneath. I have to clean the filters after every vacuuming and I vacuum a couple times a week due to pet hair. Its the fine sand and dust that gets stuck in the sponge filter that clogs it up and won't let it pick up for the next cleaning if I don't do this. We've had this vacuum for a few years.  It does a decent job...it's not a top quality vacuum, but if you don't have a lot of money its great.  I love that there are not bags to buy.  The duster works fine as a duster, but it's not really self cleaning like it says it is.  I also like that all the attachments all stick to the vacuum, so they don't get lost and they're right there when I need them.  It doesn't too corners all that well, but the attachments take care of… read full review »

 Just as long as the vacuum is cleaned properly once a week, it packs a great punch. I live in a two bedroom apartment with my husband and two year old and I'm constantly cleaning especially because of my daughters allergies. Usin this vacuum everyday keeps the allergic reaction under wraps while keeping my carpets free of loose dirt. love it! i go through vaccums every 6 months and this is the only one that has lasted longer than that.
